The waiting list is dealer dependent. For those of you looking, contact all the dealers in your province and even other provinces. One dealer told me 18-24 months wait, another told me 12 months, and one was around 6-8 months.

Keep in mind that I was told it would be 5 months by the dealership, but it took close to 12. I think the dealership may tell you what you want to hear.

Front Plate

I got a few private mails from folks wanting to know why I don't have a front plate, which is required by law in Ontario Canada (among other places).

My dealership told me that I needed to "wait for a part" to mount the front plate (wink wink). They said that they didn't want to cut into the front bumper and will leave that to me - they do this with "M" cars.

I haven't had a problem yet with the federalies however I've only put 1k on it and it's now stored for a few months (winter). I have ordered a "tow hook mount" that let's you mount the plate without cutting into the bumper.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone their experiences with alternatives to cutting into the bumper, I will certainly share mine March 2017.

Congrats! I'm curious to know which dealership you dealt with? My car is expected any day now, however I too am looking to be storing it almost right away

Regarding the front plate, my sales guy informed me that they won't drill the front bumper if requested not to. I might go the same route and just get a tow hook mount.

Excited to see someone else from Toronto on here!

Personally I think those tow hook things look hideous. I ended up getting one of these for my current car and will probably do the same for my M2. You can get them on Amazon.
