Possibly going from E46 M3 to M2

If someone would be so kind as I am 55 miles from my dealer do me a favor, the reason is when I built my house I had to get the concrete cut so the bottom of my E46 M3 would not rub when pulling into driveway, driveway is a climb.

If someone has the time, could you measure

  • The shortest distance between the front bumper and ground
  • The distance between that point and center line or wheel on the front tire/wheel
There are products now to help if Im going to rub but rather get and install now instead the day I bring it home, I have first allocation of either an 2018 M2 or M4, my decision will be made based on if a sunroof option (AS AN OPTION, not standard for those who complained and said NO to sunroof even AS AN OPTION) is added to the M2 get an M2. I love the M2 look, reminds me of the E46 M3. I got to say BMWNA is not listening to enthsiasts, I have owned 18-20 BMW's, 12 ordered I think, know its crazy but yes

The M4 is a fantastic car, love it except for the headlight design on the M4, headlights look like they go right into the grill.

There is also how much I would lose paying cash for either over 3-5 years, do people look at the residuals to figure what the car is worth based on lease rates. I read somewhere the M2 is 50% at 3 years. Got that from this link

If you go with the M2, you don't want to lease it. The terrible residual that BMW has been putting on them makes it not the greatest option.

Got that right, 50%. Has any other BMW had a 3yr/36k residual @ 50%. Not leasing, will buy outright, then check out next generation but this is last car I will be able to order and do cash, it reminds me of E46, even same HK system in the car option code 674, were they re-doing the E46 so us $60k range can buy them or what, how much more could a 4-series audio option code 688 hk surround system, would have to be less speakers in rear side panels in the M2 but still would sound better.

Do you own and m2 or m4, look at my first question about how high off ground is front bumper. Had to cut concrete when building house for E46

Would love to go to tail of the dragon again when the police were off due to overtime pay, HA

I'm currently in a TTRS, but I'm trying to get myself a spot for a 2018 / refreshed M2, so I can't help you with measurements.

Why are you posting everything in italics??

Went to school 2yrs of it to be archietect, love way things looked but needed to be good artist IMO and several years an apprentice, had a child prior going to school so needed money sooner so I went civil engineering majoring in structural analysis because I could do the math but I still like architecture or anything created, like a car, a text (I am very bad at grammar, excuse the read) and 40+ years later here I sit with dementia heading down alzheimers road, I ended up doing computer programming, admin, anything IT but most of my life making modifications and correcting errors created before myself to a structural analysis program used by a major utility, I just got into it

I just like veranda italic font, does that have a meaning like typing in all CAPS where it mean shouting, plus looks terrible? I really dont know? Does italic typing (any font) have a meaning?? If it does let me know?

I went from an E46 M3 that I had for almost 10 years to my M2. Only car that I could give it up for and it really is a modern day E46.

Exactly the same here, but still working on the M2 part.

Italic font tends to emphasize the words in italics. If everything is in italics, much like if everything is bolded, then the emphasis effect is gone.

Please
I did a quick measurement for you...
from the ground to under the front of the bumper is about 6"

I placed a measuring tape flat on the ground until it hit the front tire where the tire makes contact with the ground.... I took this measurement where it intersected the straight edge I placed on the front of the bumper... that came out to be 27"
I hope this helps you out.

How to the E46 and F87 compare other than E46 is naturally aspirated and the M2 is a turbo, Im asking, could you comment on the handling and road feedback compare to E46 M3. I read a couple places the M2 feela more like a fast go-cart, not alot of comfort, meaning you feel all the bumps. It doesnt have a comfortable ride as the E46 but a lot of power in the M2 and a lot of engine noise? Just your opinion

I am also assuming you had a sunroof in the E46 where the only country that does not have a sunroof option is in the USA, mexico, el salvador and many other countries including canada in which 2016 did not offer one until 2017. Do you wish you had a sunroof?
