I was added to Otto BMWs list the end of January. I just got the call for my build two weeks ago. I think I was number ten or eleven.

For the USA market, there are over 300 BMW dealerships with current production rate of around 2000-2200/yr. There is a vastly different M2 allotment among those dealerships, with most getting less than 5 in a year, but some higher volume getting perhaps 4 times as many. Currently, looks like most dealers have a order banks about a year long.

My order was added to the list middle of Jan, and I finally got my allocation a couple weeks ago. But BMW didn't even start producing customer ordered cars until several months after I got on the list.

When did you put your order/deposit down? I put mine down in April and as of three weeks ago I was just presented with an allocation and production number for October build date. If you are just on a list, You have long ways to go...

I do but I was on a few lists before I secured mine. I forgot about Otto. I got my car with no wait.

Small sampling but I'm on 3 lists and after the Oct-Dec allocations. Here's where I'm at on those lists.

List 1, started out #20, 7 cars delivered and/or allocated. Now #6, possible 1st or 2nd quarter allocation of 2017.
List 2, started out #16, 6 cars delivered and/or allocated. Now #4, possible 1st or 2nd quarter allocation of 2017.
List 3, started our #6, 2 cars delivered and/or allocated. Now #3, possible 2nd or 3rd quarter of 2017.

Based on my what's happening on my lists, an equal amount of people that accept their cars also drop off the list.

Is you dealer an "M" dealer and high volume? That makes the world of difference. Do you have a production number?

High volume, no production number yet. They do sell a lot of M cars.

Did they tell you what number you were on list? How many has the dealer already sold? They had to have sold there HEA and at least one other.

Same here. It's almost as if one person drops off for every car that is allocated -if not more. I'm on 2 lists currently, and I've only been on since August:

List one: Started out #8 in August, now #4 (small dealership in Indiana, very low volume)
List two: Started out #15 late August, now #8 (large dealership in Florida, high volume)

Nonetheless things are progressing. There's hope ladies and gentlemen.

I went in the dealership today to ask about my order bank status. The last update I had was about 3 weeks ago with me being #4. I don't know if the top people on the list had allocations already. I thought that everyone in the order bank means they are waiting for an allocation only. Apparently cars in production still shows in the order bank. So assuming the top people don't have allocations and are in 047 status like me there are 2 people now in 112 status meaning they got an allocation. So I'm essentially #2 to get an allocation which I'm happy to see progress is being made. I should be getting an allocation at Q1 of 2017 the latest if I had to bet. Who knows maybe I'll get it even sooner.

I am targeting delivery for late spring or early summer 2017. So I put down a deposit with my dealer back in August 2016. I was 13 on the waitlist composed of buyers who had all paid a $1K deposit. I spoke with my CA yesterday and he said the dealer received 3 allocations in the last batch. Seems like my timing should work out about right.

I plan to buy a LBB w/ 6MT, no exec pkg, Apple Car Play. Thinking about black grilles and black side gills.

If I were to get the LBB color I would def do the black front and sides. I would also do the m2 emblem in black in the back. Looks nice with the LBB or white. Not too much on the BSM tho...

I got really lucky. Sent an inquiry in on the car 2 Mondays ago, got a call that Friday about a customer cancelled car, so I went to check out the spec...Exactly what I wanted to order, so I bought it and picked it up this past Tuesday
2017, LBB, 6 speed manual with the exec package.
