installing aftermarket d1s

correct me if i am wrong, but I read that the low and hi beam xenon bulbs of the m2 are d1s? how easy or how difficult are they to change? Can i just change the bulbs and use the factory balast? or do i need to change the ballast as well? i plan to use my old set from my e90

Usually OEM HID are close to 4300k, which is actually closer to white-yellow sunlight than say pure-white light 5500k - 6000k.

It should be D1S since its the same headlamp as the m235i with the bi-xenon hid. So you could look for that. I kinda like the stock color, I like to see much better the cars im passing :P haha

Install isn't hard, but you will have to remove the stock wheels to peel back the fender liner in order to access behind the headlight. Just time consuming.

I just ordered Philips WhiteVision bulbs 5000k. Oem is 4300. Unless you're looking for blue light I wouldn't go over 5500.
