Total marketing fail:

Or maybe BMW themselves don't consider an M2 to be proper...

I just got a brand new M2 in April. Either BMW doesn't consider it to be a proper M or they think 6 month old cars are old enough to trade in for newer Ms.

Ah ok or they think you're rich and shy and they think you need a little push to go get a second M

You're reading way too much into this. They send the same brochure to everyone in the same market, including owners of M cars. Just standard collateral from their CRM lifecycle programming.

Now, as for a REAL dumb message: My local dealer's finance manager sent me an exciting offer to trade in my E92 M3, which I haven't owned for 3 years, on a new 2017 X3

First, no M-mirrors, now this. BMW has lost it's way... JK

FWIW I have bought so many BMW's I get marketing material that does not apply all the time. I think it has more to do with contact info, a survey I have filled out, etc... more than actual purchase history.

How can they send it to everyone when there's an M badge in the title?

It probably goes to all members from a selected customer group. Doesnt have to have anything to do with if already owning one(s) or not.

I always get these weird advertisement, BMW should step up their game in that department and stop sending mass brochures for everyone.

They always send me brochure to trade in my 335 for for an X1 28i ... I would be much more interested in a 440 instead
