My first M Car - took delivery yesterday :)

Hi all, newb and first post.

Well I didn’t spend months choosing and reading up on the M2 like I usually would. This was an impulse buy following a week of watching YouTube clips and hearing the noise produced by the M2 I wanted to have one. So this week started to look, found one on Tuesday and did the px for my 4 series m performed pack loaded car and took delivery of my new M2 Friday.

I’m not sure this even was a great deal or average deal but my thinking was grab one in December while sales are low and hoping I got a good deal.. - any comments would be welcome on this to put my mind a rest!

So paid £43,800 for this pre registered car with delivery mileage and I understand it’s the LCI version with new dash and led rear lights. Also got the auto 7 speed box

Extras that came with the car in the price were
1 Heated front and electric seats driver memory
2 Harmon sound system
3 Reversing Cam
4 sun protection glass rear
5 Electric folding mirrors
6 Black wing m badge
7 front carbon winglets
8 carbon gear knob, handbrake & alcantara center console surrounding gear knob
9 Carbon steering wheel insert
10 Carbon wing mirror covers

Didn’t even realise I was getting the carbon interior stuff and wing mirror covers so that’s was a nice little surprise there.

I added the rear carbon winglets to the car as an extra to balance the look.
So I super pleased with the car just need to run it. Can’t stop smiling and the Mrs keeps asking why I keep opening the windows when driving as it bloody freezing...

Anyway without pics this thread means nothing so hopefully these will attatch below and your thoughts welcome.. did I do good or just average normal deal?

Either way it doesn’t really matter it’s here now and I’m looking forward to driving it and gaining knowledge from this forum

Cheers

Thanks for your comments guys much appreciated.

Yeah I do want to get a carbon rear spoiler, I like the Vorsteiner one the most but unsure if anyone in the uk stock these. I love the look of them the most, they seem to just fit well and fit the look at the back.

Maybe do the rear diffuser too but did think would this be wrapped? Possibly frowned upon but I did wonder given the location is more discrete if I could get away with it...

Cheers enjoy that beaut - yeah the noise is addictive, I just need to get familiar with the car and the modes / handling characteristic’s to get comfortable with it.

One thing I did notice that I need to look into is my old car I could set sport dials as a short cut to say button 8 on the radio, tried to do this with the M2 and it says not saved for some reason. Maybe I should read the manual one eve...

I will be honest I haven't even opened the manual lol, I was shown how to set the buttons but I have forgot. I had the MPE fitted, it's amazing. I think we got an amazing deal like you as it was coming to December

Would love the MPE and maybe should have waited for an example to have come available but I needed my impulse buy before Christmas naturally..

Short cuts maybe different but on the 4 series you’d find the chosen display and simply hold the numbered button down until it saved. So could have a selection of radio stations / local weather and lastly sport dials. I’m not able to do this for some reason. Anyway not the biggest drama around.

Mate I’m excited for ya knowing what it’s like to experience it now. Bet you can’t wait and just in time for Christmas too! Well done #mainpresent

I’d seen the carbon steering wheel insert before in pics but thought it was aftermarket for some reason. Nice little surprise to see that, the carbon wing mirrors and handbrake/gear knob.

Thing is non of these were shown in the advert pics on autotrader so the dealer must have used generic pics. Bonus!

What colour did you go for?

Wow is that where’s it at spec wise? Happy with that then, kinda jumped in on this without doing my usual reading everything on forums before buying. I was just hoping a December pre reg was a deal, so outs me mind at rest. Still a lot of money so it’s a keeper.

On a negative note I did scuff a curb today and I’m super careful with me wheels 2 days in 120miles and I’ve scratched a small area on the rim lip. A bit gutted but put it down to my new fat rear and mis judged it. Anyway worse things happen so all good

I highly recommend it. It really ties the interior together.

It's possible to get the wheel repaired, but it's difficult because they use a tinted clear coat on the rim. I had mine done when I made a mistake the repair came out pretty good.

I prefer the RKP spoiler. I also really like the CF rear diffuser and would recommend getting whichever one you like.

There are lots of pics of diffisurs here. http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1424731

I also quite like the Vorsteiner front lip but I don't want to scrape it so I probably won't buy a front lip.
