OK bottom line FBO, NGK Plugs, Bootmod3 stage 2

Symptoms: Drivetrain Malfunction, Misfires (severe) worst in Cyl 1&6...Excess Fuel Coming out of Exhaust...Started months ago, wasnt gettin primary 02 reading from primary 02...02 short to ground and 02 heater short to ground were the 2 codes...Did continuity test on harness and ground...no short in harness...figured DME or sensor, replaced sensor...no difference...switched up coil packs, still cyl 1 and 2...

Checked fuel rail pressure via torque, about 1000psi at high idle (1000 rpm) maxes at 2800 psi at 3500-4k rpm and the car flat lines there...

Personally I think its LPFP, why? BC I tuned car immediately run higher boost, and used 30-40% e85 for a good amount of time unaware of the fuel volume issues with n55 system...also been running tank low alot and ran out of gas a week b4. and possibly with 02 sensor not reading , open loop probably had the car run rich for saety reasons..I also drive hard...car has 12k miles figured LPFPs been working at 100% PWM all 12k lol...

Anyone experience this? car spudders n misses, uses a ton of fuel...killing the plugs...

Background: So far I replaced plugs, 02 sensor....Im worried DME has physical damage and / or LPFP or maybe even hpfp...Whats target rail pressure , ballpark? should it go higher than 2800 PSI...can it reach these pressures if LPFP is bad? Do the fuel pump relays often burn out? Someone help me out please??

First things first. Flash the car back to stock, clear ALL codes with ISTA+ and see what happens.

If you have a bad flash, or bad CAFD these issues are all possible.

Also, if the car is running rough or in open loop, the DME targets a basic HPFP, you're looking in the wrong place. I doubt this is a LPFP issue. Sounds like a wiring issue, or DME issue.

Firstly I did remove JB4, and flashed to stock before anything, even removed all coding...did deep diagnostics with Carly and cleared all pending and historic faults...

Its 100% running on open loop bc b4 it started running like this it had 02 short to ground and 02 heater short to ground...

and guessing it runs rich for safety purposes...

Its deff an electronics issue...Notice the Flexraybus fault...or DME, because the 02 codes started a few months after removal by Enzo to do his bench lasg and later bootmod3...Also the DT Malf comes on with ignition, before the engine starts even after all codes are cleared so something is shorted or getting too many or too few volts or amps...

Nav is also out guessing due to a bad TCB unit...But I u could help remotely i have no issue paying u...

DID YOU READ MY DIAGNOSTIC REPORT?

Have you contacted Enzo? If it is a DME related issue perhaps they've encountered it before. Could they possibly bench test it? Maybe something got damaged during the bench flash or in transit.

I dont want to bad mouth ppl and i respect enzo and know he is very good at what he does, however truth be told I was the first on LI with an M2 ( or one of the irst) He had me get it the next day claiming he accidentally put way too much ethanol in and i had to run it down...It misfired like crazy and NEVER drove right again, slowly got worse until here we are...

Also bc he did it free I tried to help him by talking the tune up and I feel Horrible bc someone on here got his tune and is dealing with the exact issues i was dealing with early on...

To end it all a few weeks ago he agreed if i bought a stock dme for 1200 hed install it free....spoke on phone gave him valid cc info, he called back asking me to email it i did...than ignored me for almost a month...i call him from my work # yest he answers, apparently he never charged me for the dme and wouldnt even admit making that agreement saying things like "I choose who i work with, and your lucky your even talking to me" LOL...

So yea sae to say hes not helping...also when i asked him for the 4mb stock readout for bootmode he gave me the post tune file (It had the DME tamper
code and i ran more timing and boost than a reg stg 2 ots...

SO sorry but my opinion is fuck that guy right now.

Just an UPDATE: Got Navigation Working again by replacing TCB, I think methanol may have leaked onto it...Cant think of another reason it could fry so early....Maybe stereo system (3000w Subwoofer) above it maybe damaged it...idk,,,

DT Malf, ongoing, trying for diagnosis (Proffessional) this week

I responded to your PM. also I took a better look at your carly report.

I have a feeling of these things.

1) DME has a incomplete flash on it causing wonky issues, it also seems like coding file might be incomplete

2) Your DME was fried when it was bench flashed by ENZO.

1) is fixable via ISTA-D and E-SYS. I can totally do this for you if you have a ENET cable.

2) bigger issue, and its not as simple as just getting a new DME. If you have the stock readout it might help.

Yikes, sounds like a real mess. As much as I love to tinker this is the type of experience I want to avoid so I stay away from substantial mods. Frankly I would rather spend the money on a higher performing car that is sorted by the factory. Hope this all works out, I am sure it is very frustrating.

I dont think its a flash issue as the car was running fine even with the 2 02 codes for probably 5k miles ive had bootmod3 and 11k miles since enzo "tuned it" however ever since enzo touched my car its had DT malfuction issues...usually as the engine/turbo heated up....bootm0d3 helped but still sporatic misfires at high rpms/ higher gears...and limp mode...

I have the 4mb readout but enzo apparently gave me THE 4MB READOUT that was post his crap tune...because its showing dme tamper code even with bootmod3.

Interesting. Yeah it sounds like your DME might be friend.

DME sounds damaged or wasn’t sealed properly after boot mode.

Flashes can’t be incomplete (the dme wont even try to start if that was the case).

yea i never got it unlocked for bootmod3 when i got bootmod3 it had already been unlocked from enzos "awesome tune", that yielded like 20whp (bc he added 30% ethanol) since then its burnt through plugs every 1000 miles...been slower than stock, and gettting drive train malfunctions.....Important to note, hes refused to do any other other work for me since (ie sounds like what i used to do if i let a customers car go i damaged, before it started running shitty and i was suck w it)...
at that time he dmaged a few other dmes also AND ANOTHER M2 is experiencing similr issues as mine right b4 it started running permenantly bad....

hoping its the dme connection and not the dme but we shall see

If a bad tune file is flashed its very possible it can run just poorly.

I work in the field, you'd have a checksum error resulting in no start if it was a bad flash. Tunes don't go bad.

I'm well familiar. Bad flash will indeed cause checksum errors, but I'm saying a bad tune file ( badly mapped file due to bad C+P per say and then checksum corrected )

Again, very thankful for your expertise and advice...Id be more than happy to Square cash you $100-$200 bucks just for a thorough run threw remotely with Ista D...My local non BMW affiliated BMW Specialists are a little behind the times w F Series Electronics and even further behind w dme flashes and their potential affect..Dont have a lot of faith after a small chat w them...

LMK if and when you can help out my man.

Now its runnin even worse and blowing thick white smoke from exhaust...and a few new codes...also HPFP is very low..

Im really worried...fuel smoke usually has a blueish tint, oil a blackish, it looks like a combo of coolant and fuel...Hoping driving so rich for a few weeks didnt wash out the rings or cavitate the impellors on turbo...

I shoudve had it fixed weeks ago but my father passed away unexpectadly and ive been swamped....now i cant drive it when i need it most.
