Ok. Maybe I should post this elsewhere, but I want to go on record that the best thing about the Dinan stage 2 tune is that solved all of my DCT related drivability issues. All of them!! No crazy confusion at low speeds, no more herky jerky when coming to a stop then go situation. It holds the gear just a bit longer, and downshifts earlier. When I asked the install shop if it would change any of the shifting they said no. So I don't know what the exactly it did, but I suspect it just prioritized performance over economy? Whatever, I love my car now! And the added power is a massive bonus. So happy I chose Dinan.

It's good doing the S2 flash resolved your problems. For me, it only helped partially. With the A/C off, the issues everyone complains about with the DCT were pretty much gone. Once the A/C was turned on, the car was unbearable to drive at low speeds. Here's my thread on what ultimately fixed the problem for me:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1402323

This is after doing the PPK, SIB 12-15-14, and the Dinan S2 tune.

I hope I didn't speak too soon. I'd hate to have the issues return with the A/C on. But at least I know what to have them do. Or drive to Rockville

I've got a 135i with full DINAN stage 3: tune, intake, exhaust, intercooler, oil cooler. Plus strut tower brace, springs and struts, LSD, brembo brake kit, rear subframe braces, and (I think) sway bars (I'm not sure because I'll have to check; bought the car modded).

Why not? I know that my tune feels like the power pulses a bit sometimes

M235i that only has a Dinan exhaust. Not planning any other Dinan upgrades at this time.

To be honest I feel money not well spent. Didn't feel much difference in power compared to jb4 running 2gallons of e85. If I had to do it all over again I would of gone pure turbos with bm3. The exhaust and intercooler I'd still do but def not the "big turbo" and dinan tune.

BM3 with larger than Dinan turbo plus e85 is the sweet setup it seems if you don't care about warranty and the added stress on the engine/tranny/etc.

Going from Dinan Stage 2 to Stage 4 on the N55 453i did FEEL a bit less strong due to the way the power is delivered. Dinan Stage 2 has lots of low rev grunt, yet falls over itself at higher RPMs, whereas Stage 4 has low rev pull, yet maybe a touch less yet pulls hard all the way to the top rev range. JMHO and how it FEELS to me on the N55 engine 435i. Have about two years left on warranty and so like keeping that. Once warranty is done, then other options are on the table

Yeah the DINAN upgrades are a fortune for what they are. Definitely not a great value, but you do get to keep your warranty, so that's worth something.

The difference is the money Dinan spends on R&D and warranty support. Forums, Facebook groups and other communities are full of complaints and horror stories relating to JB4 and MHD, although slightly less for the latter. You couldn't pay me to put either one on my car.

The supporting upgrades from dinan I feel were well worth it (exhaust, intercooler, res delete) but the upgraded turbo (lack thereof) and the stage 4 tuner isn't worth it at all. This is just my personal experience and opinion.
If I had to do it all over again. I'd still buy dinans supporting mods but go with a solid tune from bm3 and have the real "big turbo" upgrade from pure.

I can see your point...Dinan turbo is just a stage 1 turbo with a bigger compressor. The stage 4 tune is really a stage 2 tune but they named it 4 because of marketing. Regardless, it still adds ~60 WHP which gets you to the magical 400 WHP figure. Additionally, and this is a selling point to any enthusiast especially me, we can wring out the engine to redline effectively. There's that NA feel up top.
