The newest 400hp Audi RS3 is about to be announced in China on Shanghai Auto Show in late September. Autohome, the most known auto media in China, was given by Audi one of these for a comprehensive review, including performance test, of which below is the acceleration part. It's a surprise to see M2 has a upper hand in 400m(1/4 mile) drag - 12.56@112.5mph vs. 12.67@111mph.

What's even more surprising is the RS5 trap speed, same as M2 @ 181 kph

That's the B8.5 generation, not the newest 2.9T. E92 M3 was 13.11@111mph, even slower.

The same goes to 911gts' 12.5@114, that's a 991.1 3.8NA.

Thx for the charts. That trap speed for the RS3 is contradictory to what others have reported (no sources) which is 116 mph.

One more media test by PCauto, similar result - note: there is no launch control used in their tests.

1/4 mile in 13@175.5kph(109mph).

It looks to me limousine version doesn't live up to expectations.

There are a handful of videos showing the RS3 doing 0-100km in 3.7-3.8 sec (0-60 in 3.6). I would say the numbers from the first article are a bit suspect, and are slow compared to the second article.

The numbers from the second article are much more in line with other launch tests. 4.65 and 13 secs without launch (essentially handicapping RS3's strong suit) are pretty damn fast. They should be right around M2's numbers. It depends on your expectation I guess
