After the tune, the M2 feels significantly faster and I set off traction control in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. However, at the same time the power delivery is still very linear and feels almost like stock in the power delivery aspect. I wouldn't say there are any huge spikes in power where you get that thrown back in your seat feeling.

My experience with the tune has been flawless no issues or complaints. The only thing I would change is the exhaust pops and rumbles in comfort mode now and I would have rather had it be quiet in comfort mode with all the traction control features on. I rather have it pop and rumble in sport, sport + and Easter egg mode (comfort with traction off).

I plan on upgrading to stage 2 in the summer. I currently have the CSF intercooler on order and have AA chargepipes waiting to be installed once I get the intercooler.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
I wasn't aware of the fact that the comfort mode loses the quiet exhaust. I really like the sound and experience of comfort mode on the highway. And you're saying that comfort mode loses traction control?

I am looking forward to the "power under the curve" feature, and the "drives like stock, just faster" feelings. I'm going right to stage 2, and I'll share with the forum once I put some miles down.

You retain traction control in comfort mode. I was just referring to the "Easter egg" that when you are in comfort mode and turn off traction control, the exhaust does extra pops and rumbles on a stock M2.

And yes comfort mode is not totally quiet with the HEX stage 1 tune. It pops and rumbles now (not excessively), while stock my M2 in comfort mode never popped or rumbled.

Looking forward to your review of stage 2. Do you have an aftermarket downpipe, intercooler and chargepipes? If so, what did you go for?

Oh okay, that makes sense regarding the burble.

I have ER TIC & charge pipes, AA intercooler, Fabspeed catted DP, Dinan CAI and resonator delete.

Oh, to all the guys asking about pricing, visit VF's website. The pricing is there (or it was the last time I checked).

Pricing is there, but only states that the ECU must be unlocked, doesn't mention the OBD flash version as of my early morning visit today. FYI

Stage one tune on 2018 M2

Modifications previously done:
- Dinan Res Delete
- Dinan Cat-back Exhaust

Otherwise completely stock car running CA 91 octane.

Wheel horsepower - 340
wheel ft/lbs torque - 376

After stage one software

Wheel horsepower - 372
wheel ft/lbs torque - 428

The guys at VF-Engineering are awesome. My M2 was worth about 1/8 of some of the other cars around it at the shop, however they treated me and my car like gold. The guys there are humble and so nice, they are true car enthusiasts and I’m so happy I took my car down there.

The tune its self is perfect, the torque and mid range horsepower is most noticeable. Makes me wish I could install my intercooler a little sooner and exploit the upper end power even more. For now I am extremely happy, I don't have to push any buttons or program maps. Its a very cohesive package, the software has increased the burbles on overrun and also increased a little bit of the start up noise. When I clicked on my sports display, the software even changed my display to read horsepower out of 480 and torque up to 560. Although my car does not make those power figures, it's cool to see that up there. Very happy

Excuse the quality of the photos if they are blurry, every time i try to post a picture is says my files are too large.

Awesome. Back to back runs on the same dyno, before and after the tune...exactly what people want to see. Thanks for this! Great numbers, by the way, on CA 91 no less!

Please, please get a dyno, if possible. Would be great to see the delta from the same car, back-to-back.

And exactly in line with what we advertise, every single time!

To be honest though, in a perfect world we would rather sell
software based on the driving experience as opposed to the
dyno numbers.

There's nothing better than being able to hear the smile on
a customers face from over the phone! That's better than
making a 400hp dyno plot any day!

Thank you for the good words, sir!

It was our pleasure to have a customer who was willing to
drive all the way from Utah just for our software.

Customers like you keep us humble, not the line-up of cars
in the workshop. That just makes going to work not seem
like actual "work" at all.

This tune looks awesome!! Do you have different tunes for catless vs catted downpipes? I'm looking at going with an ER catless downpipe and stock exhaust.

Also since this tune was developed in California, does the ECU adjust itself for higher elevation? I live at higher elevation and don't want to have any issues. Thanks

We do indeed offer different Stage Levels for different hardware combinations.
You can start with Stage ONE today, and then when it's time to upgrade to the
Stage TWO file, you simply pay for the upgrade and we e-mail you the file.

For customers at elevation, the ECU does retain all of the same adaptation
functionality as the factory software. For the M2 in particular, the size of the
turbo does not necessarily lend itself well to be pushed any harder at higher
elevation, but the delta gains between stock/tuned software will be similar
to a vehicle at seal level. 20-25WHP / 50-55WTQ

Just to clarify, stage 2 is compatible with Fabspeed's sport cat?

Sport cats are compatible with Stage TWO, correct.

For Stage TWO aftermarket downpipes are a firm requirement, and
aftermarket intercooler is a soft recommendation.

Solid Stage TWO combination.

We'll look forward to your order tomorrow!

The 30-day return policy starts the day we e-mail you your tuned files.
This will give people a chance to get their orders place before the sale
price is over, and the clock doesn't start ticking until you're actually
enjoying the extra power.
