Installed my kit today, DIY was a great help, used dental floss to get the DCT sticker off, thanks for the tip on using thread or similar.

Anyone else have the issue of the DCT sticker not sitting quite as nice and flush on the c/f knob as the oem one. Mine appears to sit up slightly higher on one side than the other, as if the cut out is just fractionally too small, no biggie though, still love it over the factory trim.

I used dental floss, its a great shout. Mine sat completely flush, you could always remove the double sided tape and redo yourself. That should fix it.

Isn't there a 'non-alcantara' version of the piece that goes around the shift knob? I thought I had it bookmarked but can't seem to find it now

Another shout for dental floss - tried this with various pry tools and got nowhere except stabbing myself quite deeply in my hand

I dry fit mine first using the original insert and noticed that it didn't sit right until I lined it up better and pushed it down well. I then used woodturing double sided tape to reinstall, instead of using the replacement insert that came w/the kit just to see if it worked. It did. So I would remove it, test fit then reinsert.

Mine seems to fit perfectly, and color match seems fine. The door panels may seem darker because they’re in the shade? How’s it look compared to the handbrake boot?

Sure. I posted this on another thread.

I checked my car just now and yours may have a slightly bigger gap than mine. I could maybe slip the corner of a playing card in mine, but not a lot more.

the color on my boot seems to match it too. The doors do look darker, but I really think that's because they're in a darker area of the car.

That leather is not wearing well. Neither is mine.

The kit comes with a new piece with tape pre-installed.

On trying to remove the brake handle: would it not be better to unclip the gaiter and remove it from the handle with the handle in-situ, then take a small pry tool to the clips that hold it on? Just forcing it off is going to break what would otherwise be a completely useable handle that you can either refit when selling the car, or stick on eBay.

Mine pulled off with no problems. All the clips were still intact.
