Exactly, long side all the way in! Was driver side rear, had it repaired today for £10 so not too bad an outcome.

Crazy, maybe got clipped by the front and then caught the rear in the worst possible position? Plug or patch? Assuming plug for that cost. Does anyone even patch any longer?

Got it drilled and plugged, it was the perfect position in the tread for a quality plug job!

Almost good in a weird sort of way as it went through the wear indicator which has a greater thickness. Go play the lottery dude...

May I ask what the benefits are from doing this..?

I love that everyone mods their M2's and really enjoy reading about the changes ... this one I'm not entirely sure as to the motivation

Well the stock incandescent bulbs will eventually burn out and will require changing, so replacing them with LED's that will last 10+ years is just a smart thing to do if you don't want to deal with bulb failure down the road. But besides that it's mostly a cosmetic modification. It adds a much crisper and cleaner look to the rear of the car. You can clearly see the difference in the way the light is illuminated and how much better it syncs up to the blinkers found on the mirrors.

Left side is stock, right side is LED

Here you can see the reverse light on the left is a bit yellowish, while the right side is very white and much brighter

So it's basically giving the car a more modern and updated look. Might be harder to tell from these cell phone video's but when you see it in person the difference becomes very obvious. Hope that answers your question.

Its great that there are so many interesting mods to be done ... the problem with a long delivery cycle is that it creates a vacuum of desire that means I spend too much time thinking about what mods to do to mine when it arrives!

I really like this update. LEDs are soooo much nicer than filament lamps. I did this a couple of months back. It's a cheap and easy mod. Good job.

Had the 1200 mile service done. Then got busy with my bimmercode app. Enabled the rear fog lights, got rid of the seat belt icon, gongs, the warning disclaimer, the three led's on the side of the front headlights and maybe some other small things. Great little tool once I got a V gate icar2 dongle that worked. No issues, highly recommended app.

Honeycomb rear reflectors. LOVE them. Truly does widen the car. Big props to Acexxon for a great mod.
Forgive no tips... Mine got damaged and I'm awaiting delivery.
Changed out the rear pads for my Hawks while wheels off (COTA!)
Followed by the celebratory wash (did not f up my car doing a mod).
