I have read the forums and see that along with grills, there are numerous options for carbon fiber mirrors.

1) are they all caps or is there an option for the full mirror? Are caps good?

2) prices are $200 - $700 for caps (from what I can tell) why such a big gap?


I would rather not spend $700 but I want something that looks good, doesn't need to be OEM. Ideas?

All caps, OEM would be the most expensive, with akra in a close second. If you go aftermarket you have a lot more options like autoid and autotecknic, either in OEM or m style. I would avoid anything on eBay under $200 though for fit and quality.

I have the autotecknic M mirror caps. I think they look pretty good. IND has them for sale on their page around $300 I believe.

What's the difference between OEM and M style?

Is it that the M style ones have the "wings"?

I was looking at these just now, IND has them at $250 I think.

The only thing that's stopping me dropping the hammer on them is the plastic spur - does it look as bad as their pictures make it out to be from inside the cockpit?

price difference is due a lot of factors , very hard to say without having a both products on hand to compare quality.

That being, not all CF mirror caps are equal. you can easily tell a good quality CF, it also will last a lot longer than the cheaper options

Yeah, the driver's view is pretty unflattering. I think someone should design a black plastic piece to go on the inner portion so it looks more authentic. From the front they look pretty amazing though.
