I did this with the blue version and now the auto start stop button is always on. Hitting it does nothing, turned the car off and on and switched back from sport to comfort. Any ideas?

It's possible when you took the button all apart that the circuit board isn't lined up with the physical button that you press and it's stuck without being able to engage , I would take button apart again and try reinstalling everything

Or you could just use double sided tape, stick it on the button then pull it out (doesn't require much force just pull it fast), replace with red or bleu button and youre done.
