My guess is that there will be a single M2 variant, whatever its name is - CS, Competition, whatever.
And, it will come at a hefty premium over the current iteration. And it will be more difficult to obtain than the M2 was at launch. Those without considerable dealership connection will likely be waiting until 2020. |

Can they say anything about that? On the screen of my local dealer when they were going through the same bulletin (which I didn't get to see much of), I glimpsed a picture of the Red Start Button from the M5? I guess this may feature in a wider range of cars going forward? |

Thx.
Updated the first post of this thread. And for the Mineral Grey fans: still zero test mules in MG (October 2016 till now).

I'd be interested to know this as well (even though I don't live in Europe). I may have missed it, but was there an explanation of how we came upon this series of VINs for the US Competitions? One can only assume there is another series of VINs out there for European cars, but good luck finding it!

But IMHO that does not necessarily mean that no Bimmerpost forum fellow knows those VINs.

OK, watch this space. List is coming. Let's see how deep the M2 Competition rabbit hole goes.

Yeah, it's another M2. Probably as limited production as the current M2, unlike M3 or M4 which are sitting on lots everywhere. |

Always think it is funny that people think their CA has some inside knowledge or perspective on unreleased pricing on a car. No CA worth their salt is going to tell a potential customer that the car is going to be substantially more expensive, thats an invitation to get their customer to shop other options. Of course I have no inside information but it only makes sense that if BMW is going to add substantial content to a car they are easily selling at the current pricing they are going to close the gap between the M2 and M4 more than it currently is. I hope they don't get too aggressive because the M2 has brought a lot of new enthusiasts to the M product line so it would be a shame to see them price them too aggressively but my guess is they will.

Highly doubt they will be 18" friendly. You can see the minimal caliper clearance with the 19" M2 wheel vs the 20" M5 wheel. |
