Strange noise from left of driver side dashboard

I was driving along today and suddenly heard rattling noise coming from the left driver side dashboard or at least in that general vicinity. Not sure if anyone on the forum has experienced such rattling noise?

I?ve got this too and it?s doing my nut in. I?ve had the car in to the dealer once who replaced the glovebox but rattle is still there. Sounds like it?s coming from behind the far left air vent, or maybe even the passenger window is lose...

Nope, just sounds like rubbing plastic.

Wow I thought I was the only one. This is driving me nuts. I think its the panel under the glove between the footwell side panel.

I FOUND IT ON MINE. Thought it was the glove box. Its the intersection of the under plastic next to the glove box and the transmission tunnel on the passenger side. I folded some paper and shoved it between the two plastic pieces, rattle gone. I almost lost my mind looking for it!!!!!!!

Also, the rear deck lid above the rear seats rattles a bit. Unflap the plastic flaps on top that open to hold car seat straps. Then I took a sweater and lodged it against the rear window and base of the lid. No more rattle there. Quiet as can be now.

Hate to ask but can you post photos of the spots you are referring to. Thank you very much.

These rattles remind me of my e46m3 lol, but I'm glad you found the issue. Thanks!

I have a rattle too coming from the rear deck lip from what I can tell. I thought it might be the rear seat latches.
Can you explain what you did...not really following the sweater thing? TIA.

Any movement in this? I'm experiencing rattles in the same places and it's driving me nuts. Dealer took care of rattles from the rear deck lid, but I'm still hearing some near the front on both the driver and passenger side of the dash.

I also have some plastic like sound from the passenger side front right corner of the dashboard. It sounds like it comes from behind the dashboard. Can't find the source.

Took me a long time to search for the noise and after running on some very rough roads I noticed the annoying sound is gone. Go figure...
