I'm broke for the moment... eating potatoes for the next few months I might later on but an exhaust system is the next step as the standard exhaust is pathetic.

Got the M2 M Performance Exhaust and can recommend it.

True that it comes at a price, but you get some benefits that most aftermarket tuners cannot offer:
  • sounds very good (deep growl, rather than high pitched rasp or questionable fart can sounds);
  • open and close valves with a remote control ('track mode' vs 'sport mode');
  • BMW quality (no 'limp mode' issues, as some reported about their third party aftermarket exhaust);
  • you get BMW guarantee for the part;
  • you don't void the BMW car warranty;
  • you get a BMW document confirming that it's an official BMW part (which you can show to whom it may concern if need be: car inspection, police, etc.);
  • better influence on future car resale value than with a third party aftermarket exhaust.
Here's a clip of a friend doing a series of pulls with my car to show the different modes. Static display, no cold start. Try to imagine how it sounds with a cold start, or when warmed up and under load.

Yes I've already seen this video. Very nice but it's impossible to get a real idea from a recording. I've ordered a Fabspeed.

Congrats Corine. I know what you felt, I ordered my M2 LBB 6Manual speed in 06/2016 like you and 10,5 months later arrived to dealer, but there were a lot of rumors of B58, M2 CS... finally i decided to buy my MY2017 and it has 5.500kms at the moment.

I’m Spanish, my English is terrible. Sorry and enjoy your //M.

Thanks for your post

Bonjour Corinne,

Great delivery story, LBB is gorgeous and the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. Small world, Annecy happens to be hosting L'Etape du Tour in 2018 (cycling amateurs ride one stage of the Tour de France). I participated in the last 2 events. My Euro delivery adventure will be posted here soon. Enjoy your beast

Thanks - yes I have a sense of humour that often gets me into trouble ! By the way I forgot to mention that the big mountain in the first few pics of what I posted yesterday is the Mont Blanc 4810 m.

Congratulations! Enjoy in good health.

Great account of ownership. You live in a beautiful town and the pics are wonderful.

When are you receiving the exhaust?

It should have been delivered to my office today (I'm enjoying a couple of days of holiday to make the most of it being 23°C which is most unusual for late october). Can I have a ride in your M3 in december when I'm in Dubai on a business trip ?

Some say, that if you look at this picture for a long while, eventually you will see a car.

Yeah it's between the 62 year old bag and the rock wall
