A few early '18 LCIs delivered with Adaptive LED Headlights at no cost

When my '18 rolled off the truck, the first thing I checked was the window sticker. It says Adaptive LED Headlights are standard ("Included") at no extra cost. This is what every confirmation, piece of paper and VIN search has said since my car went into production.

The car does have the Adaptive LED Headlights, but it does not have 5AC Automatic High Beams. Anyone else with an LCI experience the same thing?

Was your order a '17 to '18 flip or did you always order an '18?

I'm not sure how to answer that. I went to the dealer planning on a '17, but switched to the '18 when it became available during the time we were negotiating. I don't know how the allocation was handled.

Update: I went back through my notes, and both cars were shown as Week 27, which was before the original July 17 start of production for the '18s.

Congrats!! Now I guess this still begs the question if it's standard or BMW simply made an error.

It seems to be a real and deliberate decision to me. The lights are there, the switch is there and all the paperwork supports it. Plus, there's an increase in MSRP to cover it, which came way too soon after the last price increase on the '17s. And, the parts approval process and delivery of those parts to the manufacturing line is so precise that it would be extremely hard for a "mistake" of this magnitude to happen for more than a handful of cars.

I agree. However I know there were a few early LCI m3s getting adaptive without lighting package. So there's that as well. Would be great if it's standard, but then hard to justify the exec price without LEDs

Awesome!

I hope this is true as I do not want the Executive Package but I was the updated LCI headlights.

I was not a '17 build that was switched to an '18 build. I was also not an early '18 build. I started off at week 40 and recently got bumped to 36. I first ordered a non-exec packaged 2018 and all my original paperwork said I would get adaptive LED's. I later added the exec-package anyways for the other things that come with it.

So bottom line, adaptive LED's are not something you are getting because you are an early '18 build. My assumption is that they are standard on MY18's.

Congrats - seems like you're the first known user on here from the US to take delivery of an LCI M2 after all.

I guess the only question left is why some folks who've ordered an LCI M2 from the US don't see the Adaptive Headlights on their purchase order outside of the Exec Pkg. Wonder if someone in the US who didn't order the Exec Pkg and who doesn't have item 552 listed on their purchase order will still get them... Strange that the US purchase orders are not consistent on this, and that we don't see it in the US M2 Pricing Guide (though that could be updated later).

Dealer originally said 6-8 weeks, and it totaled 54 days. Once in awhile, everything goes right...

So here's a copy of the Exec Package contents from by WK35 LCI US-spec order sheet the dealer sent me. A few questions still remain for the OP;

1. Does your car have the park distance control sensors on the bumper? My thought here is now that the rear camera is standard, the sensors and coding needed for PDC are included as part of the Exec Package

2. Are automatic high beams included with the adaptive LED headlights?

Candidly, the main reason I added the Exec Package was for the adaptive LED headlights based on the spec detail the dealer sent me. The value for the rest of the Exec Package contents don't add up to $1550 IMHO. Too late to change now as I just got confirmation my car went into production August 4. Hopefully others ordering a US spec LCI will be able to make a more informed decision on the Exec Pack.

Pure luck!

What you decribed re: the 552s was my situation exactly. They just showed up on the Vehicle Inquiry at Status 111. As far as the early information and pricing guides go, those are notorious for having mistakes in them for most manufacturers. Some are done months before the cars are released. The only exception seems to be manufacturers' websites, which sometimes are updated long after the new models have been delivered.
