I do agree, most forged wheels are stronger than most cast wheels. Although keep in mind, under the serious punishment even the strongest wheels can fail. With that said, over the last decade we have had very good success with the TRMotorsport line. They have became a popular option for track applications and we have had very little problems.
For the enthusiast who wants an inexpensive track set up, these are hard to beat.

**For those tracking your car, please makes sure to fully inspect your wheels and tires for any fatigue or cracks before hitting the track. This goes for forged or cast wheels.
The front and back of the wheels should be cleaned at the end of the every track day and inspected for minute cracks or damage. At the first sign of a crack appearing (regardless of size or location) the wheel should be removed from service and replaced with a new wheel.
Additionally every time new tires are mounted, each wheel should be inspected to verify that it is round and true. If the wheel is found to be bent while the tire is removed, it should also be removed from service and replaced with a new wheel.
Finally if the wheel has been used for an extended period of time, the driver may want to have a local machine shop professionally crack test it in the off season before it is subjected to another year of track use.

We have not received the first shipment yet. We are expecting them to come in around the middle of November. As soon as we get the first shipment in, I will post the exact weight. Thanks for asking!

Hi Keith,

Any plans to off a wheels that are legal for scca street class autocross (+/- 1" oem wheel diameter, oem wheel width and +/-7mm oem offset)? I've looked through the website and don't see any that would work.

Thanks!

Hey Keith, (or the group)

Following the progress of these as well as looking into putting a stock 18" M3 setup on the car. Issue on the stock 18"s is that is seems both the R71 and the Cup2's don't come in correct sizing for those wheels.

I ran 40's front and 35's rear on my E46 M3 and would like to know if running a 245/35/18 275/35/18 would have issues. Stock tires are 40 series. One of the tires comes in a 245/40/18 i think.

Thanks

As of right now, I do not see any good options for this. I am sure the wheel manufacturers will being building more and more options as the demand increases. Although with the car being so new, I do not see anything at this time. Sorry about that!

The OEM tires measure:
Front - 245/35-19 = 25.8"
Rear - 265/35-19 = 26.3"

The sizes you asked about:
Front - 245/35-18 = 24.7"
Rear - 275/35-18 = 25.6"

I do not see a problem with these sizes fitting on the car, although it will throw off your speedometer and the car will ride stiffer with the lower profile.

The best staggered 18" sizes would be either:
Front - 245/40-18 = 25.7"
Rear - 265/40-18 = 26.3"
(options such as the Pirelli Trofeo R, RE-11, Hankook RS-3, Yoko AD08R)

or

Front - 245/40-18 = 25.7"
Rear - 275/40-18 = 26.6"
(options such as Bridgestone RE-11, Nexen N FERA SUR4)

I ordered the 265/35/18 Re71r package. I will be installing on a completely stock car (well, other than pads and fluid). Wheels should be here next week, and I'll have them at the track the week after that. Will post some pics on the car when I get them.

Between the two us, 265(me) and 275 (DrKev), we should have some pretty solid real life information with these wheels and tires. I still think the 275 will need some added camber up front, but maybe the 9.5 wheel will keep the 275 from interfering with the front fender in stock form like it does on the 18x10 fitments we have seen, wouldn't that be cool!

DrKev, are you running camber plates already, can't remember?

This is great info....I have the GC camber plates and have tracked the car twice with upgraded pads and fluid only. I am on the fence about wheel and tire set up so I am really looking forward to these reports.

Unfortunately, the season is over in the great north. I'll try to post some picks with the package mounted and at full negative camber.
