Who has V-maxed their M2?

Just curious.

Came up on R8 spider and 911 convertible on Friday. Was one car behind, and got an opening. LOL. Nuff said.

I thought it was too... but apparently not. It felt like it had more to go when we ran out of road.

Just because a speedo is stating 165 mph, the actual speed typically is less. I don't know if the difference percentage wise is greater at the upper limit. Around here, (the US) an indicated 30 mph is generally 28 mph actual and so on. Just my two cents worth!

Thats a good shout. I know my MINIs have a 'vanity' speedo that reads faster than you're really doing.

In this case my V-Max is GPS speed

If you changed your tires maybe. Now that most speedos are not using a cable to the tranny and are read digitally they are mostly spot on.

Speedometer is programmed to read higher than actual. 155 is actual governed speed without the drivers package. 80 is 76 and the spread gets higher the faster you go.

When I was on my ED trip I had mine at 270kph on the Autobahn (after break-in service of course) so round about 169mph. I thought it was limited as well, but my salesperson thinks that they may have the car in an unlimited setting because it has not yet been properly PDI'ed. Not sure if that's true though, but it is limited to 250kph now.

I believe people have used GPS to determine that non drivers package cars go faster than 155, and drivers package cars go faster than their limit on paper as well.

New tires 28, worn 30. Or is it the other way around.

Common knowledge. BMW has been doing this for at least 15 years.

I think you have 10 hours of running time before the 155 governer is locked.

Common knowledge? As in internet urban legend stuff?
Don't see why they would waste time to accomplish something so irrelevant.

This is very real and can be coded on or off. It's very useful for the old speed cameras & average speed traps here in Europe.

For example both my R55 and R56 MINIs have this enabled by default. When the speedo reads 55mph you're really closer to 50.

However with this disabled on the M2 50mph is as near as dammit 50.

Look up 'BC_V_KORREKTUR' & 'BC_DIGITAL_V_KORREKTUR' on the KOMBI module

Or just get the P3 Vent Gauge and it will show true road speed.
