great work there! Does this require to send my stock M2 side mirrors? or simply a plug and play method?

Plug and play is not an option as the inner electrical parts are not sold individually by BMW and to have me purchase a complete set from BMW and swap in the parts will be too costly (OEM mirror set with lens costs roughly $2000...).

Let me finish up with the prototype first, maybe a week or two and I'll let people know what I have in mind.

Cheers!

Question can I purchase a used set of M235 mirrors for the internal part swap? I really would rather preserve my OEM M2 mirrors and canniblize non M2 mirrors, I am not sure if this has been thought of??? that could give others options

That might be possible. With our prototype unit, I will test to see if the controllers from the 2 and 3 series are able to function directly with our M2 system.

Actually we will be making specialized tools to make taking apart our OEM mirrors nice and simple. It'll be an easy job that any shops can perform.

First of all the mirror caps look nothing like the real deal. Not sure why anyone would say that unless blind.

Also while I do appreciate this endeavor and will be closely following it, in all likelihood the M2 CS will have M mirrors. Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to just buy them?

If the M2 CS does come with M mirrors - which are not being suggested in the test mules, then again it should cost around the same as the M3/M4 M mirrors.

I'd buy OEM M mirrors if they really decided to come out with them and drop this project, but until then, I am working hard on this to at least have them on my own car for now before any production, pre-order takes place.

If the CS comes with the M mirrors, would these be a simple plug and play onto "Base" F87? Cost of replacement M3/4 set of mirrors?

I doubt that the CS will be equipped with M mirrors though, it'd be very cool and generous if BMW does it, and yes it'll be a simple plug and play, but would probably cost you $2000 or more for the pair.

I am trying to keep the cost to just over $1000 if I do go into production. Gotta finish the prototype first.

Cheers!

Finally got the prototype made, trust me, it wasn't an easy job.

Gonna test fit next week for sure, and hopefully it'll function properly. I'll take some pics next week.
