265/35F, 285/35R fit on stock wheels?

Its time for new tires, was wondering if 265/285 will fit on the stock wheels, car isnt lowered at all.
Any rubbing? Stretching?

I have this setup with 4S's. I'm lowered 15mm and am running -2.7 camber up front and it fits fine. I just add an extra psi to the front to get the turn in feel the way I want. 265 doesn't bulge out from the 19x9 front wheel, but it's definitely the widest tire width you want to go on a 9" wheel.

Also, the 285 rear is taller and when my car was dropped 20mm I would get fender liner rub when the trunk was loaded, had a passenger in the back seat, and hit a large bump. Just a little rub, so no big deal, and I now get no rub with a 15mm drop.

Do you think there would be any rubbing issues with these sizes on stock suspension at stock height?

I don't think so, but it's hard for me to know for sure since I have the extra camber dialed in via camber plates.

I guess I'll have to try it out when my M2 arrives in November. I'm not a fan of the stretched look that the stock tires have. Just gotta cross my fingers that I'll get the Michelins; I can use the front 245s on my E46.

And you'll be able to stick the OEM rear 265s upfront and just buy a set of 285s for the rear. A 295 would rub the fender with my setup.

Yeah, I only planned on buying 285s for the rear of the M2.

But I'll still have to buy 2 new tires for the front of the E46

Just an update that I did get a little fender liner rub on the front when I was at the track last. It’s a clockwise track and the rub was drivers side under full compression.

So, who’s going to try 265/30 & 295/30 and report back?

This past weekend at The Glen, an M2 had 275/30 and 305/30 (RE71-Rs) on stock wheels. Has camber plates, no rubbing. Not sure if he is on Bimmerpost. He said they had a hard time getting the rear tires on.

I wouldn’t have guessed a 305/30 would fit in the rear. Any idea if he had aftermarket suspension? Usually the lowered cars with coil overs have less fender & spring clearance.

Also, do you guys think 30s vs 35s would ride a lot harsher on the street?

Yeah, I was surprised. Stock, just camber plates and no spacers.

Trying to revive this thread.

Interested in pics of 265/285 or 275/295 setup on stock wheels and stock suspension (only).

I had 275s on another car with 9 inch rims so I know this size fits just fine on fronts. Of course not sure about rubbing.

I run my stock rear 265/35 pss on the front and bought 285/35 for rears. All stock rims and suspension. Fills fender nicely and pretty much flush to outer fender. I did notice it doesn't slip the traction light as much now, not just the width but also the added diameter.

When switching over to my winter set I noticed very light rub marks on drivers side front, just on the front side inner plastic fender liner. Very minor, no groove or anything, just polished up the plastic a bit.
I also get a bit of tramming on uneven pavement with this set up.

Drop the Hammer: Thanks! If you have any pics with more light, that would be great, to see the wheels/tires a little better (maybe not as you're apparently on winter setup). Appreciate it!

I think it only barely touches and only at a certain corner angle and under compression. I could not hear any rubbing at all.
