265F19 305R20, w/ coilovers setup help?
Hi,
I wanted to see what success have other people gotten with running 265s and 305s on there car? I'm having coilovers installed today but I want to start the process of ordering my wheels so I can handle the increased power in the rear without breaking it lose in 1st and 2nd. Any suggestions, or examples you guys had of using 265F/305R?

Ive fitted bigger wheels in older cars that were lowered. Not the M2 since I barely drive. Make sure of clearance on inside where the shocks are and fender clearance. Fender clearance can be solved with camber and raising the car. Inside clearance requires spacers...which would push out the car. Every 25mm is about an inch so. I dont think fitting the tire will be an issue just make sure you buy your wheel with the right specs. |

I am fitting a set of 19x9.5 +30 19x10.5 +35 with 265F/295R tomorrow. I'll be on springs, which is less clearance than coilovers. I'm sure it will be aggressive, but I'm hoping to get away with no spacers. I definitely will not be fender rolling. I contacted BC Forged and worked out something they seem to think will fit. A 305 will definitely have poke, especially if it is a tire that runs wide.

I believe I have seen a post saying exact same tires F&R with negative camber 2.7 something at the front. However, he did not have the coilover, was stock suspension. Also remember that he mentioned having heavy stuff in the trunk or ppl at the rear passenger will cause the tire touching the fender well.

If 305 goes on 19 inch I am sure it will rub without negative camber.. 295/35/19 will be doubtful as well I think.. but some did it even with stock suspension and was told that very slight rubbing with weight at the back seat (passenger) or in the boot. 285 is totally fine with 19 inch |

If you be careful going over bumps and staying away having passengers at the backseat and heavy loads in the truck, I think it should be okay at the rear. 265/30/20 at the front will need camber plates for sure when lowered. I am not 100% sure but will need around -2.5 camber. HRE even confirmed at the forum saying; Attachment 1767409 I am pretty sure this comment was made under stock suspension setting. 295/30/20 is the recommended size for the rear (with stock sus) from HRE according to the comment above. I would say to stick with 19 inch wheels. Why would you go for larger wheel, I understand that the look 20 inch wheels give you is better look but it loses handling. speed rate is not consistant (incorrect speedometer reading) does not give you better traction. This is just my personal thoughts. |

I am going to change my wheels and tires but most likely i will be going either of two choises; HRE FF04 or Vorsteiner VFF 103. I was initally thinking Dinan's wheel and tire package but it is super expensive so I passed haha.
Will be fitting 265/35/19F and 285/35/19R MPS4S. |

I know wider tires will give you more traction and it is great. However, if you go bigger than what it comes as stock wheel can fit, I dont think it is optimal for driving dynamic, but certainly give you better straight line drag. Larger wheels also contributes more weight as well and give wrong speed rating as I mentioned. 285 is just fine with 10 (FF04 is 19X10 ET35). Dinan 19'' rear wheel is 10.5 inch and thinking that it should be okay with 305 (if not 305, 295 should fit at least). But if you are going lower, i don think u can avoid putting camber plate at the front for sure. |
