With the M235i the ones in the wheels are known to fall off quite easily. I've found mine nearly out before and pushed them back in. Dealerships tend to replace them under warranty since it seems to be a known problem. I'd imagine the one falling off the trunk would get replaced as well.

I happened to read this yesterday and it made me check my 235 tonight. Hanging by a thread on one side!
My car sat in 90 deg sun for about 12 hours yesterday and I know it has been pretty scorching in parts of Ohio lately. I'm wondering if it's the culprit. |

Happened to mine too. I went to put something in the boot and found it barely hanging on. I touched it and came off in my hand. One of the plastic plugs the pins go into has gone and the other one is cracked. I still have the badge and have told them to deal with it during the run in service today. They seemed to be surprised but I expect it to become a common issue soon.

This forum will be the end of me. I wanted to ignore this problem but yesterday, it finally occurred to me to touch my roundel and sure enough, it's also loose! Wtf.

This happened on the wheels of some of the early 235 adopters - if you go back and look at the Chris Harris review of the car, I think one of the front wheel roundels has gone bye-bye. I had a total of three Roundel losses from my 235's wheels, dealer replaced each time without any fuss. Perhaps some of this pain is part of being an early adopter?
But yes, it does look bootleg to come out to your car and see one of the badges missing, so I can understand the frustration.

Its a new break-in violation detector; option code SX4U.
Seriously, went out and checked my to satisfy my OCD. Did it scratch the bumper cover as it decided to eject from your car? Last edited by It8ntez; 07-12-2016 at 05:38 PM.. |

I noticed mine was loose when I washed it today. One of the grommets was toast. I managed to use a wall anchor that fit well and now it's nice and tight. Thank goodness it didn't fall off.

do you mean like one of those plastic plugs that a screw goes into? I have no idea what the back side of the roundel looks like.
