M2 Coding. What have you done??

I thought it would be good to get everyone's feedback in one place on coding the M2.

Some topics:

* What coding have you done?
* what coding worked well and what wasn't so. good?
* What accessories did you buy and what person or what company did you use?

My M2 arrives in August (hopefully) so would be great to see what can be coded. I know I want to code the drive in motion but not sure what other options there are for the M2

I guess there will be other threads but didn't see one dedicated to only the M2.

My most liked options:

iDrive disclaimer removed
Mirrors fold in/out with door locking
Halos 100% with headlights on
Taillights act as DRLs
Brake force lighting
DVD in motion (OK relax, it's neat but I don't watch whkle driving)

Waiting for someone to code the gauge lights to be on all the time

Real surprised the wing mirrors don't fold back automatically when the car locks.

I'll probably look to code the same options. I hear the 100% halo is a great choice.

What cable did you get for the M2? Did you do the coding yourself? I can't imagine it's too difficult but I've never tried.

Cheers

Garage List
2023 Porsche GT4  [5.00]
2016 BMW M2  [8.66]
Windows up/down via fob
Mirrors fold when locked
Seatbelt chimes disabled
Angel eye full brightness on at night
Radio off with one push/door opened
Door handle lights come on in reverse
Disable climate control auto on
Enabled rear fog lights

I had my coding reset and done over because I had the rear camera coded on at high speeds and enabled zoom. The rear parking censors lost their mind and I couldn't deal with it. No problems since I uncoded that.

Keeping the lock button pressed(BMW logo) when locking the car makes the mirrors fold back. At least with my car. Not coded. My 1M had that the same way..

That very well be the case; I usually keep my keys in my bag or jacket. So I use comfort access to lock/unlock doors

The guy who coded my car (remotely) provided the cable.

Look on the forums; I thought i saw a thread about someone who is offering free coding to M2 owners

Actually for North American cars, BMW disables the folding function for no reason whatsoever.

Thinking about it, most manufacturers do.

I tried your method with my car, but it doesn't work. Probably a NA market thing. however the windows roll down when holdoing unlock button, but they don't roll up with key fob.

I added it so it would display Text messages on ten iDrive , very handy and can then reply via Siri.

On my Wifey's 5er it also enables BT album/artist browsing and steaming . But this was already on my M2!

Looking to do something exactly like this. Who did you use?

Also, does this impact warranty in any way?

Great news. Can you code cars in Canada? Should have mine in a few weeks, if you can let me know and we can work something out.
