Thanks for posting the figures. Sucks for those who are trying to stretch themselves into an M2.
BMW FS has priced itself out of the market for my business on this vehicle. Going to finance with a local credit union at an advantage of over 1% APR over their 2.99% currently offered. |

FYI for those looking at stripped M2 at MSRP for a $0 down 36mo/10k lease this puts you at roughly $750 before taxes and fees. (Fully loaded roughly $920).
Realistically you are looking at a $1030 payment after taxes and fees fully loaded. Approximately the same as a 60 month payment at the 2.99% BMW FS is offering. |

Bananas. My 2011 135i had a >60% residual! Looks like BMW FS isn't willing to take a risk on this little guy. Nuts, considering how the 1M has performed in the secondary market.

Probably know that many people will buy this over an M4 anyway and with limited availability they'll get it on a lease all day long. MB leases are probably comparable residual wise. Wonder what a 718 Cayman leases for....
IMO right move on BMWs part.

Oof. Those are rough numbers. There is no way the M2 will cut through 50% (or more) depreciation in 3 years. Do not lease this car.
On the other hand, if prices really do drop like a rock I may be more interested in one 2-4 years from now. |

I've never leased, don't the residuals imply what they believe value will look like at the end of the lease? If they're low, that means a higher monthly payment, but also that someone leasing the car will buy it out at the end and just flip it if there's a low residual no?

It's not about real world residual value, it's about maximizing profit on a low volume car.

I really like the m2 and even wanted one for a while , last month I got a 79k m4 for 810 a month / 36 months -12k a year with 2300 total out of pocket including the 1st month .
Seriously , the m2 as a 60k car isn't worth a dime over $650 per month . |

Happy I didn't wait for another set of bad numbers. Penfed payment saver ftw.

Wow that's a $700 to $800 payment if not more. Better get a m3 or m4. For that money
