Hey guys!

That information on the german forum came from me.

While I grew up in Germany, I am currently in the US and will move back to Europe (Spain) in July. I am in contact with a spanish dealer who gave me that information that I will be able to configure/order the car in may and that they expect it to arrive in september/october.

I got the other information about the presentation in april from a friend who works at BMW in Munich.

Will keep you guys updated!

Same as with the M2. Slow start and then a similar push of M2 Competition models. In the end, the M2 Competition replaces the M2 LCI...

In the UK, the dealers have allocations on the M2 and I was informed by my dealer, if they do bring out a CS version it will be on allocation. They have 5 deposits and they think they will only get 3.

Right now the most confusing part is where you sit in line for an M2 Competition. There's no certainty the M2 CSL/CS will be built after reports of it being scrapped. Some of those with deposits down for the CSL/CS may end up settling for an M2 Competition. For example, if there are 6 deposits down for the CSL/CS and 2 of them decide to get the Competition instead, you're number 1 spot for the Competition just became a number 3 slot. It doesn't matter what your contract says, dealer has the last word and you have zero visibility into their sales. Unless you have someone on the inside, which most buyers don't.

The dealers are going to look after there best customers who spend the most, not who comes first.

Do you know how long the production run will be for the M2 Comp?

When will it end?

Thanks

This has been mentioned before in this forum. I believe the next generation 2 Series is meant to land somewhere late 2020 or early 2021, so we will only have a run of about two years of M2 Competiton and a limited CS model coming out just at the end.

Be aware M2 Competiton is not M2 CS. the limited model we all think now is called CS. 3 of 999 is a lot, but let's wait and see how many they will make.

Unless BMW changes its mind at the last minute and decides to call it CS again.
So the M2 Comp isn’t equivalent to a M3 / M4 CS but is more extreme than the M3 / M4 Competition packs??.

I’m sure some at Munich is laughing their head of with the confusion

In simple terms it is a M2 LCI with a new engine, new exhaust, new name tag, new front and rear bumpers, M mirrors and a whole range of new options:

Second wheel option, front PDC option, new interior options, new exterior colours, upgraded brake option, etc.

It is not a Competition Pack, but a Competition. The limited model will now be called CS, that is what we all think here, but we are still guessing what the spec will be of that model.

Nice to have some confirmation of the first reveal of the M2 Competition at an auto show but that is still 3 months from now.Maybe they will reveal the car before an auto show like they did with the original M2 release.
