New Car: What does "included service" actually provide?
I'm out hunting for an 18 new vs. 17 used. Pricing all over the board.
My understanding is service is included for 4 years. But does not transfer to the 2nd owner. I've been out of the M loop for a while, last I owned was 11 M3 which had the "old" service for 4 years transferred to new owner. So my question is: what does the 4 year actually get you? In $$$. I'm looking at a new 18 for $56k but have to wait 5 weeks. Identical 17 5k miles for $52k. So wondering what the service cost would be on the 17 going to the dealer. The obvious is the value is only good as long as you have the car. So if you sell it in a year, then you didnt get much value in the service. But if you keep all 4 years, then it pays for itself.

Like one oil change, maybe some wiper blades...
And why on earth you'd go to the dealer to get an oil change is beyond me.

The service got reduced after MY16, used to include brakes, now it doesn't. It's not longer worth much but a free oil change really. https://www.bmwusa.com/explore/bmw-v...onditions.html |

I found this recommended M2 schedule. But there's no break flush, just oil change and "inspections"?
https://www.bmwcharlottesville.com/s...esville-va.htm Well, according to below wiper blades are NOT covered LOL Geez BMW getting cheap http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...3&postcount=19

Correct that it no longer transfers and no longer covers brake pads or wiper blades, however... it's also only three years now.
