M2 ride height on Eibach springs

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Would anybody who has the Eibach springs on their M2 be kind enough to tell me the ride height please, measured from the bottom of the alloy to the arch?

I believe standard is 620mm front and rear and the recommended setting for the MP coil overs is 595/600mm.

Many thanks 😊

When I had my Eibach's, my M2C measured at 587mm front and 604mm rear. Keep in mind that I had Vorshlag camber plates, as well. This likely lead to that lower than usual front ride height. Consequently, this resulted in quite the front rake.

I quickly learned that the front was too low for me, with tires basically tucked under the fender at a stand still on a flat surface. So I began researching other options, which snowballed into my current setup with Ohlins R&T. Now my ride height is right where I want it (598mm and 603mm).

Curious to hear others chime in on the Eibach's.

Thank you. Much appreciated.

I’m running a B16 kit at the moment without spacers.

To my eyes it looks higher than cars with Eibach springs + spacers (the most common combo in the UK).

The Eibachs to me look “about right”.

So I was curious as to what height those are, and whether the spacers create the illusion of it being lower!

Not sure if any of that makes sense!

My ride height now is 595 front / 597 rear. So it feels like I’m quite similar.

The rear was nearly perfect on the Eibachs. However, the front was too slammed for my liking. Measuring from bottom of wheel lip to bottom edge of fender, the rear was 17mm higher than the front, causing the front lip to sit very low.

With the Ohlins, I now have it set to just a 5mm difference between front/rear with a slight front rake. The front lip has a lot more ground clearance. As for ride quality, comfort and compliance, I won't even get into that. Eibachs/OEM struts to Ohlins.... not even worth a comparison. You get what you pay for.

In that case, I wouldn't bother messing with it. I suppose I'd consider doing something to raise the rear slightly but I surely would not go lower in the front.

Thank you. I will likely leave it. Nice wheels! Are they Apex? Or something else?

Thank you! Yep, they are Apex EC-7's.

I went with Apex's recommended specs (listed below) for a spacer free flush fitment and couldn't be happier. I think the weight savings is only around 3-4lbs a wheel, but It's crazy how much lighter they feel, directly compared to the OEM 788M's.

19x9.5 ET28 + 265/30r19
19x10.5 ET45 + 295/30r19

No rubbing with the Ohlins at 598mm in front. Though, I suspect they likely would have rubbed when I was at 587mm on the Eibachs.

Nice. Thank you! They're going on the shopping list. I was thinking of going with the 18 inch 513Ms, but I have the big brakes too so they would require new brackets and smaller discs at the front.

I like the E46 CSL vibe of these Apex!

Great minds.

That's exactly what drew me to these. IMO, they resemble what could very easily be an upgraded OEM BMW wheel. And their price point was quite appealing, compared to some of the other alternatives.
