Can't take the kids to school in an Atom - that's too far even for me lol.

Never took to the Miata. Great little car, but just never liked it. Maybe because it was so popular and everybody had one.

Not sure why, but never warmed to the TTRS either. Love the interior and drivetrain, and the front looks great, but don't like the back. Its like a modern car in the front and a Gen I in the back - doesn't fit together.

Since I can't seem to get an allocation, I'm shopping used R8's right now but haven't quite given up on the M2.

what does "shitty looking" and being able to corner have to do with each other? These are both street cars, and you'd never be able to exploit what either car can really do on the street, and unless you are a much better driver than you think you are, I doubt you could drive to the point where it would impact your laptimes on track either. Years ago I raced a Acura TSX on track and it was a great race car - and all that weight on the nose too! That said, I'd be driving an M2 now if I could get an allocation, but it doesn't make the Audi a bad car - bland looking maybe. I've had 4 of them so far.
I didn't say it drove poorly because it's ugly, they have nothing to do with each other.

The car is hideous.

The car will drive like crap because Audi long ago lost all driving excitement.

Those things are completely unrelated but both true. And like you said, you'd buy an M2 so thanks for making my point.

Actually no, its because the M2 is offered with a Manual, I can get it without a sunroof and its cheaper. The M2 does look better, but I don't love the looks of that either really. I have a mild preference for RWD, am ok with FWD and like AWD. As a nearly 30 year sports car racer and builder, I've no concerns about making any drive format handle to my preferences; heck my daily right now is a hot-rodded VW Bug Turbo .

By the numbers the RS3 and TTRS look fantastic. I concur with some others on here the looks get me. The RS3 looks like a standard A3 but modified and even slightly like a regular sedan like a kia. The TTRS front looks great but the side profile gets me. From a numbers perspective (1/4, lap times, etc.) the TTRS will hand it to the M2. But the M looks better IMO and from review the handling is phenomenal.

Won't be able to corner will remain to be seen. Electronic suspension standard compared to fixed in the m2. Plus AWD. Will be interested to see track times and pricing.

Entire engine fore of the front axle, nose heavy plowing understeer most likely remains....R8 or bust with Audi. But the V8 6MT is barely faster than an S5, so what's the point?....discontinued like any "performance" Audi.

That was a very unrefined estimate. Better estimates using historical comparisons to Canadian prices suggest the base will be close to $52k. Options could take you to $60k, but you'd basically need to select the ceramic brakes to get there.

I'm not sure low 50s makes sense - there are many S3s in Audi lots - aren't the R series equivalents typically ~10k more ?

I was guessing 60 would be the starting point, albeit nicely equipped.

The official price is C$62,900 + options (tops out at a little over $73K all in with CC brakes). This information is widely available to anyone who knows who to ask.

This base price is $500 less than a fully equipped 6MT M2 (no sunroof).

EDIT: forgot to mention it was Canadian dollars.

I would just be surprised if it were that low - would be nice, of course, but I don't see it coming in that cheap.

The base price of the RS3 SB in Italy will be 54.600 Euro that is 12.500 Euro less than the M2 DCT. It's a big deal.

Search out the estimate, someone did it in logical fashion based on prior canadian pricing.

Also reconcile that the rs3 comes with dsg, sunroof, premium audio, led headlights, and tft dash all in the base price. Also consider sport exhaust is c$800, painted calipers c$400, and some other options much cheaper than we need to pay for m performance parts.

What prior pricing? The RS3 has never been available in Canada before.

Prior pricing differentials for other audi models between the US and Canadian markets. Based on the actual released prices in Canada.

Very favorable Motor Trend first drive:
http://www.motortrend.com/cars/audi/...-drive-review/

M2 for track, RS3 for everything else and probably more engaging than M2. Those are some big words.

This.

I lost all faith and respect for motortrend well for a lot of reasons and previous articles but when they came up with this for "cons" on the M2...

YOU WON’T LIKE
-No adaptive suspension, hence stiff ride & road noise
-Lack of interior/exterior color choices
-Short on rear seat leg room

Rear seat leg room?? Are you guys serious, please tell me that was a joke...

As to the Rs3, I am an Audi fan and my last car was an S4. Really like the Rs3 but to me it looks so boring I can't fall in love with it. The AWD for my climate though is very tempting.

Motor Trend picked the PT Cruiser as 2001 COTY. Need I say more?
