Not to be A buzzkill great mod an all, but the m2 comes with an oil gauge that works if i am not totally off here cause the dealer showed it to me when i test drove it its like, A bar that you can find without any coding and also it has under the idrive menu where you check your tires psi there should be a display showing you if the engine is warm enough for hard driving i have it on my x1

Didn't get it just for the oil temp. It monitors many more systems in the car.

I am also hoping that the upgraded Idrive in MY 2017 has this functionally and even more.

Another alternative is the M Performance steering wheel with coolant and oil temp gauges. It works nicely and is better than losing an a/c vent that would otherwise be functional. The vent would be better suited in the right side IMO, since that's indirect air for the driver anyway.

Did not know that the US Spec idrive would be that much different then the EU, Because you have to go in to the "Sport menu" that shows the kw and how much hp you have at certain nw then from there click on the second menu that show the tire psi system.

Weird if the EU gets it and US don't

do you code at all? would like to compare your HU_NBT ecu to mine. See what parameter that is that enables it.

I do not code mine came originally like this from the factory but as i said this is on my X1 its a 2016 generation idrive so it might be different from earlier idrives. Maybe pikachu can help you he is very good with coding for our cars. Could be some easy enable/disable code as you mentation your self.

Mine is installed with just a friction fit and it doesn't move. It doesn't look like it in the photo but the color of the TP gauges is very close to the OEM color.
I just checked the App Store and it's available for iPhone. How do you make it work?

You just need to buy this, plug it in, and pair. I tried a few different ones before settling on this one works the best and not expensive.

Does anyone know if the oil temp is calculated or is there a real sensor? Many cars calculate the temp.
