I really don't notice people looking myself but at a gas station where my wife was in the passenger seat she noticed a few who seemed to like it.
First guy just stared and she was "wtf is he looking at" and she stared back giving him the eye. That didn't help. He kept staring. Then she realized he was looking at the car... Then an elderly gentleman looked at the car, shook his head and smiled. Oh, and our neighbours friends backed their the car to where I have my M2 and just looked at it for a while. And another neighbour thought it was a $100k car... I think it's got something to do with the proportions of the car. It's just a cool little car. |

I haven't got mine yet but I just can't wait to see the look on my nasty neighbour's mug the day I park it in my drive. I've got an old 330 d which is starting to rust (328,000 kms on the clock) and he cruised past me the other day with a look of superiority in his brand spanking new 318i ! That will be a day to remember !

I was pulling out of a shopping center and a homeless dude walking by asked me how much my paint job cost me. I told him it was a sticker and this was the face he made

Took my daughter with two of her nephews for a fun ride this weekend somewhere in Northern Italy. They were giggling in expectation each time they noticed on the SATNAV the dark grey road part, indicating that another mountain tunnel was ahead of us ("Look, soon another one - Almost there !"). Warm weather, both windows and sunroof all open. Once inside yet another tunnel and 'upping the ante', the car interior got invaded by loud engine/exhaust noise and unstoppable laughter of the three kids. Possibly some cool stories will have been told on school yards right after the weekend.

And of course, when getting on board, one of the nephews first checked the most important car fact for kids: "How far does the speedometer go ? 200 km/h ? Whoah ...three-hundred !" + glimmering eyes in disbelief...

Co-worker called me today when he was driving to lunch. Said there were three guys standing around my car admiring it. He walked by and said "the guy that owns the car is a douche" and they proceed to break up. lol

Excellent idea ! I'm wondering what temperature the engine has to be for it to do a cold start... would this be a function of the water temperature, oil temperature or what ?

Took delivery of my LBB M2 yesterday (will post pictures soon; came with Michelins hehe).
So anyway I came to work this morning and a woman in the elevator said she saw me with the M2 in the garage and really liked the color. LBB definitely gets the attention |

Had the car a little over half a year. Long story short, in general, Men notice the ///M, women notice the LBB, everyone notice the sound. Lots of attention everywhere you go, YMMV based on location.

I posted way back in this thread that I don't want attention and that I chose MG thinking this would be the case. Well after a year long wait I took delivery today. First early impressions of the car...wow just wow. This car far exceeded my expectations and is a substantial well crafted machine. I'm in awe enough said. With respect to attention I have my answer. Let's just say it would be easier and less time consuming to summarize who didn't give the car attention. I'm shocked. People in other cars staring, rolling windows down and making comments, people on the sidewalk stopping and staring, thumbs up from an attractive female, neighbors commenting...wow. And this is Toronto where luxury and exotic cars are pretty common. So much for my "understated" hopes.

Black cars usually don't get attention unless it has unique overall contour shapes/flowing body lines. Black cars tend to hide the lines of the car in exchange for shine, so it is hard to appreciate the car design. BSM usually is the most stealthy of the color choices. For attention, the Blue, the grey sometimes but not even close to the LBB

I had my car out in a busy part of the city yesterday it was parked and I was sitting in a cafe watching. Again I'll say this city and especially the area I was in has no shortage of high end cars. People were waking by with some literally stopping in their tracks to look at it ranging from younger teenagers to an elderly man. Some were peering through the window and getting mighty close to the car. Nevertheless I remain shocked at the reaction to a MG BMW. I think unscientifically it breaks down as one third know what the car is and look, one third don't know what it is or means but think it's a good looking BMW, and the last third hear it and look to see what the hell is making that noise. I love this car. |

I was at the bmw experience center. Parked my M2 where everyone else's. When I was approaching my car to leave a group of peeps were surrounding the car. I just said hi and felt a little weird about it. But was kind of happy they liked my car.
