Tire warranty

Are original manufacturer tires replaceable under warranty? If so do I just contact the dealer? Anyone with any experience here would love to hear how this works. My tires are worn at 17k.

LOL 17K miles and you want them warrantied? Most people get like 1/2 to 1/3 of the miles on the oems.

Assuming Michelin Pilot Super Sports, read the Michelin Limited Warranty document here: http://media.michelinman.com/content...6_REV_0716.pdf

This is also assuming you did not buy the optional Tire Protection plan from your dealer.

I believe 30k gets cut in half for staggered setups.

According to this, because we have a staggered setup, the rear tires are covered to half the mileage but the fronts should have the full 30k. That said it does require even wear across the width of the tread and mine are not even.

Thanks for the link.

and if you wear them evenly you can get fronts replaced for half the cost. Read the warranty.

Yeah not the one you pay for at the dealer but the Michelin warranty associated with the 300 tread wear rating.

Correct. Reason being staggered = no rotation and rotations are part of the maintenance of a tire and in most cases is required to receive mileage warranty.

17K on Michelin PSS or Continental OE tires tells me your not driving the car they way it should be. And by that I mean, you must be driving pretty conservatively. Are fronts worn as well?

Hah fair enough. I have 8 track days on them and a ton of freeway miles so actually I'm pretty happy with how long they've lasted. Add to that that the tread is still pretty good but I just have the driver's front showing cords on the shoulder from this last track day. Needed more pressure or camber plates.

Cosmos and the other guys (and me) will tell you pressure isn't enough. Camber plates are needed for the track. RRT in Dulles, VA does all my work. Great shop.

You are driving it properly. You did well at 17K. And no dealer will give you warranty with belts showing. Maybe try Michelin 4S next for comparative mileages. They are supposed to give better mileage than the PSS.
