Week 24
Just had a call from my dealer here in the UK, my car is going into production next week.
Seems as though I have been a little bit unlucky and missed the LCI by about two weeks. Week 24 is between June 12-18. I did ask if the build could be delayed for a few weeks to ensure the LCI, but apparently not. Not sure how I feel about it really. I am sure the Sales Advisor did all he can do provide me with an LCI car, but his efforts didn't appear to be enough. I actually prefer the pre-LCI headlamps and tail lights, but I do like the LCI cluster more than the pre-LCI. The minor interior changes are not really a deal breaker either, its not as if I am going to be staring at the passenger side dash or glove compartment while I am driving the car! Seems as though retrofitting the cluster might be an option, but then there might be issues with tamper warnings and incorrect service info being displayed. Not so fussed about the iDrive screen being a bit bigger and touch screen, can upgrade the iDrive to verison 6 Lite easily. If I cancel, its going to be another 8-12 month wait and I really cant see me waiting that period once again. What would you do, cancel and wait even longer, or just enjoy the car? |

Enjoy the car. There's not enough of a difference between '17 and '18 to matter. I'm on the list for an LCI M2, but if I could get a 2017 right now I sure would!

Thanks chaps, I have decided to stick with my order. As some of you have said, there isn't really much difference.
So I am now excited and the next few weeks are going to drag, I just know it! |

Just confirmed that my "week 24" went into production June 1 and is schedule to be out of production Friday. It was always my understanding that the production week was the week it would be done....and this seems to line up.

Still waiting on a ship for mine. I'm jealous of you earlier 20-weekers. |

In general it seems the MY17 order process went completely different than the MY18. A lot of current MY18 orderers weren't on any waiting lists, put their orders in late June of this year, got a week 3X build, and will be waiting a total of 4-5 months. That's a pretty quick turnaround and not much of a time commitment. I still know of a few dealers sitting on unclaimed week 36 builds. Last edited by importriders; 07-15-2017 at 08:25 AM.. |

Personally, I purposely jumped to get a MY17 because I don't like the LCI changes. Numbers aside, I just didn't want the new model. Plus, I'm letting go of a 2015 m235 so it's bad financial sense all around for me. |
