Alcon or Brembo?

Hi guys, thinking of upgrading the brakes and a couple of people have told me that Alcon actually makes better brakes and Brembo is just a bigger brand.

What do you guys think? I was looking at the Brembo GT BBK.

Check on replacement rotor ring cost and pad options for both before choosing!

Neither? AP’s kit is awesome, the quality is unbeatable, and it’s a true Motorsport setup.

Actually agree with this. Alcon is also the supplier of brakes to the Australian V8 Supercar Championship.

AP Racing exclusively supplies V8 Supercar with their Radi-CAL brake technology...and German DTM...and they're a leading supplier in WRC, NASCAR Cup, IMSA, etc. You can see the V8 Supercar specs here.

On the front of the V8 Supercar they actually cram a 395x40mm disc into an 18" wheel, mated to an AP Racing Radi-CAL caliper. I took this pic on my desk.

Here it is in action:

Here's a cool blog post we did that looks at the old AP Racing brakes from DTM vs. the new ones.

Here are the brakes off of the upcoming 2018 M4 GT4.

Here's the M6 GT3

You need to check out our Essex Designed AP Racing Competition Brake Kits. We have several options for the M2, and have a number of awesome M2's running them around the world currently. Our kits have a laundry list of features not offered by our competitors, including Alcon and Brembo.

Below are a couple of pics, and you can read lots of owner reviews in this thread and on our blog.

It's pretty easy to see, AP Racing Radi-CAL brakes and bad@ss BMW's go together like peanut butter and jelly!
Shoot me a PM or email me and I can help you choose the appropriate kit for your needs.

I happily stand corrected. Alcon was for 6-years between 2006-2012.

Garage List
AP Radi cal

I am very happy with AP Radi cal calipers upgrade on the front of my rally car. Big increase in braking power and no weight penalty on the calipers albeit there is on the larger rotor.

I ordered Brembo's and they just came in the mail. I think you should become a Brembo buddy!

Has anyone already found a brand that could offer race discs/rotors that can be used with the OEM callipers ? Last time I checked Brembo did not offer that yet...
Alcon perhaps ?
I want to improve the efficiency & resistance of my brakes for track use but not replace the full system

We are an Alcon distributor and they are GREAT kits. That is not knocking Brembo at all as they are also a fantastic brake kit. Let me know if you need help on either.

Would you have more performing discs/rotors that can work with the OEM callipers ?
