Yea, unfortunately. Didn't think it was noticeable in the pics.

While washing the car with wipers up, the water pressure from the pressure washer pushed the driver side wiper down. The rubber blade came off as the arm went down and the bare metal arm smacked the windshield, creating a gigantic spider crack.

The new BMW design holding the rubber wiper blades to the arm is very flimsy, imo.

Scheduled to have it replaced tomorrow.

I have had a near identical experience ... I put a crack in the windscreen on my X6, while washing the car, with the wiper blades.

I was lifting the right blade off the windscreen to get the car ready to foam, and I didn't have a firm grip on the wiper and it let go and snapped back onto the windscreen. It put a "star" in the glass exactly where the arm connects to the blade ...

I should have had it fixed immediately ... it'd have been a minor repair as it was only very small ... but I forgot, left the X6 parked for a couple of weeks in the garage during a cold snap. When I took it out of the garage, the crack had grown half-way across the windscreen!

And that was $2,700 for another genuine BMW windscreen ...

Ouchie!
