Must not be a lot of people with Week 23, but in case anyone actually reads this, my M2 was put on a boat on 6/16 with an estimate arrival in Charleston of 7/2

My car is on Canadian soil and cleared customs but now I have to wait for it to arrive by train. I think this part is going to be the most grueling part since there's no way of tracking it and I'm in the dark!
I can't wait!!!! |

Picked up mine at PCD on Friday, and its better than I could have imagined. Here are some of the worries I had before picking it up, and what I think now that I've driven it 600 miles:
Worry #1 - LBB would have too much green in it and would look cheap. Reality - I personally don't see any green and absolutely love the color. The other three options just aren't special in my opinion and don't do the car justice. So far, the only comments I've had on the car were about the color. Worry #2 - The crooked seat will bug the heck out of me. Reality - I can actually notice that the seat is cocked to the left a bit when looking at it, but cant tell at all when sitting, so in the end, not a big deal. Worry #3 - The interior will be too cheap for a $50k car. Reality - Sure, the leather is not as nice as the only other M car I've spent a considerable amount of time in (E92 M3), but its definitely not cheap. The seats are comfortable (drove 6 hrs. straight back from PCD) and I love the look of the carbon fiber trim pieces. Worry #4 - The ride will be too harsh Reality - There have been a few instances where I've felt this is true, but for the most part, its a sports car and feels like one. I would rather have it feel stiff for normal driving than too soft for spirited driving. The only thing I would change is I wish there was an option to leave the exhaust valves open in all driving modes, rather than just Sport +. Love those burbles. PCD was cool, but really only because you got to take a car, just like the one you ordered, to the limits. I personally would have skipped the off road portion and the museum tour if I knew better. The off-road bit would be cool if you have never been off asphalt, but growing up with trucks and jeeps, it was kinda lame. |
