Just installed the GC plates with stock suspension.

Uneventful install. Was able to get -3.0 each side with a little finger's worth of clearance remaining between the spring and the inner shock tower. There is still some plate range left. You clearly could dial in more with smaller coilover springs, but that will have to do for now. Also set toe at darn close to 0 leaning a touch in.

Going to run at VIR in a few weeks. Bet I still wear the outer edges, but this should help the tires last a bit longer. We shall see

Is a spring compressor required to install the GC plates on stock suspension?

yes. you replace the top hat w/ the GC plate, so you'll need to compress the spring in order to have the strut nut thread to the strut.

Does the GC plate raise the front at all? Or is it the same thickness as the stock mount?

Camber settings

What have you guys found with higher camber settings for the street? I'm considering going near 2° negative camber on my incoming M2. It will be a street/DE car. I'm okay w/shorter tire life if it's workable

As long as you are okay with shorter tire life -2 is okay along with zero toe. If you are going to adjust for more camber come track day, you will want some toe in for the street since adding camber will toe the car out slightly.

No problem....but I do get tires cheap! I ran that set up at Sebring and drove the car back to Atlanta with no issues.

-2 not enough, ideal is around -2.75 to -3. I couldn't get -3 and keep my toe in spec with stock suspension.

I ended up at -2.75 and zero with good wear on the street so far (7k miles), but we have a lot of roundabouts, so that may even it out better (and make it more appropriate) than if you're 100% highway...YMMV

This is my biggest gripe, but its not the fault of the camber plates, its the springs. I'm using m performance coilovers but the spring is so damn big I cannot get enough camber before touching the inner shock tower. I find myself wanting more than -3.5 front camber for better tire wear and turn in. This is where I wish I got a KW or similar coilover kit.

So is it pretty much pick your favorite brand between?

* TCK
* GC
* Vorshlag

All are priced right around $550

Looks like Vorshlag has 6 hex bolts for adjustment vs. 4 for TCK/GC

Always been a fan of TCK products but I definitely remember clunking with my E46M3 and their camber plates (due to the top nut slightly backing off)

Any consensus on which one to run?

I went with TC Kline. The adjustment holes are predetermined to from stock and plus 1 stock. To negative 1 and 2 over stock.

They have been great

Top nut baking out will cause a noise for sure. A little bit of loctite will make sure they stay put.

TCKR is a none sliding design so there is no worry about the adjustments moving.

What'd you set your camber to? I'm looking for -2.75, can this be achieved with TCK plates?

Attached is the alignment specs after my tck plates were installed. I installed the plates myself and then brought it in for an alignment of the toe. That's why the before and after on the camber are identical. I had the camber on the plates set in the center position. That seems about right based upon my track experiences so far. No outer edge wear. Yet still fine on the street. I'm happy with the purchase.

I think it depends on suspension. When I went coils my camber changed since I did it all in one swoop. Technically, 2.75-8 would be right on target for the negative 1 setting. I've seen stock camber range from 1.4-1.8. Right now I'm at -2.85 to -3. The plates add caster too.

Thanks ashburyn54 and Pyrat 2. I'm going with the TCK plates then.

Some loctite will take care of the nut backing out issues you had.
