RedCarrot - was yours a week 45 build? If it was it sure crossed the pond quickly.
Mine has been sitting in Bremerhaven for over a week, waiting for a ship. Then, once it gets to Port Hueneme it will have the additional delay of the software update. It's starting to look like I won't see the car before January. |

Hi guys, I only know it went on production on 9/29, got on the boat around 10/25, and arrived at the NJ VPC around 11/10.
Wharf Rat, it seems like they are able to turnaround on the update pretty quickly once it became available. There shouldn't be a backlog by the time your car reaches the port and hopefully the update will be part of the usual prep that doesn't add more wait time. On a cool note, my sales rep is getting an M2 himself and got the next allocation after mine. His is due to arrive in January. Last edited by RedCarrot; 11-17-2017 at 03:54 PM.. |

It looks to me like some week 45 cars going to port hueneme showed up on the Titania according to WWL track and trace. You should check your VINs there if you haven't already done so.
I found my week 43 there before the genius line. It seemed to me the east coast cars built the same time had a much shorter wait than I did. |

FYI for all gents who are worries about the "instrument cluster recall issue" that is causing the delay at VPC releasing vehicles.
I Found 2ers forum post mentioning the same issue. Apparently, there is one dude who had his 2 series delivered to his dealer but waited for his car to have the recall to be resolved at the dealership and he did pick up his car few days later (mentioning that dealer said that they do have the software update fixing this issue). Problem that I found some saying that the fixing and updating the software takes aroun 2.5 hrs?? That I think it pretty long time for a simple software update?? If it does take 2.5 hrs per a car, I have nooooo idea how many 2 series and M2s have to go through this update at VPC sitting to meet their owners. Seeminlgy, that the issue started from Nov 10th. ^ I’m not week 45 but maybe relevant to the recall discussion - my car arrived at the Baltimore port on Sunday. Got an update today that it should be at the dealer on Saturday. So hopefully that means no further delays with this recall issue. We’ll see how it goes.

It is hard to say if its exactly one week, since my car waited at port for almost 2 weeks prior to getting on a vessel. You will get a faster update on this site 2 days after your vehicle gets on the vessel. https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?fra...uickSearchPage Just input your vin number (your sales advisor should give it to you, I called and told him to email the number so no mistake is made) within the cargo ID and it will provide you with the vessel name/detail. http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1225876 |
