Is there an automated system that tells me the VIN# while the car is in production?
I dial the 800 number to get status updates and was told the car is currently in production with estimated completion date of 9/18. I didn't hear any menu options regarding finding out what my VIN is.

Thanks in advance.

No, you get that from your CA, or the Genius Phone Line talking to a real person.

The only problem with snowy parking lots is hidden curbs or light posts you can't avoid... Momentum is a very important concept when playing in snow. Made that mistake two cars ago with the side of a building, thankfully there was a bigass snow pile in the way so no real damage to speak of.

I only have room for one car, and I'm tired of the TT (plus it's too small), so the M2 will have to work. I can do my job from anywhere I have internet access (for the most part), so if I have to work at home a few days this winter, I think they will live.

Eh, it's just a car. Not like it's a 1 of 20 Ferrari.

Hell, my TTRS is only one of 421 in the US (for the 2012 year, there are about another 500-some for 2013 as well), and it has been through two winters now that I know of (I'm the second owner and no idea if the P.O. drove it in winter or not)... Cars are meant to be driven, not sit in a garage.

There's a guy in Cleveland who drives his Miata the entire year, often driving with the top off in winter. It's pretty awesome to come across him on the freeway.

Agreed. No garage queens here - despite avoiding salty roads, my Miata has 132k miles. Plan to drive the M2 as much as possible too.

Same, driving her year round. No snow or salty roads are gonna stop me. Just give her a undercarriage rinse every now and then and she'll be fine.

The winter wheels arrived yesterday and tires are on the way. Not to mention my place is getting full of boxes with mods. Need to get this car asap just to clear things up.

Nice! Where did you get the wheels from if you don't mind me asking?

Looks like yours will arrive before mine even though they completed on the same day. Mine has not left the plant yet.

Do you know at which port of call your car will be unloaded?

Mine was the same status a couple days ago, at port of exit, waiting a vessel. There is a ship leaving Bremerhaven on 9/18 for Galveston. Hope they load mine onto that one.

Hmm that's odd. Don't see why they wouldn't have left together if they were both completed the same day. I would imagine they ship out all the cars that are completed in bulk.

I spoke with our SA today, seems like several M2's including mine are still at the plant and have not been released to a carrier yet. They are all in limbo and no one seems to know why yet. We're hoping to find out more come Monday. You might want to give him a call to check on yours as well. I really hope it's nothing to worry about.

Genius told me this morning that mine is en-route to the port, so it's left the factory at least.

I was hoping, perhaps over optimistically that it would end up on Morning Courier which left this afternoon. I don't think that happened, which makes the next boat Thalatta on 09/22.

I've been using the WWL wildcard search to find M2s on vessels, but noticed that all of the VINs that the wildcard loads are different from mine.

Mine is of the format WBS1J5C58JVD3xxxx whereas every car on WWL right now is WBS1J5C58JVA1xxxx.

I've checked a VIN decoder, and everything looks right, and I was wondering if the sequence changed for W37. Does anyone else have a VD3xxxx VIN? Or are others VA1xxxx like every car on the WWL tracker.

I'm VD3. Do you have an assigned vessel yet?
