I still can't get over how much of a bargain this is compared to my 135is.

I believe the moonroof option is available through the dealership only (hidden option?).

Someone on this forum suggested that it is possible your AD has the ability to order the moonroof. Not sure the exact cost as I was not really interested.

In Canada we can request it via the ZSP code. Cost is $400 to ask plus whatever insane fee BMW slaps on if they say yes.

No guarantee they'll do it tho.

Here's the non-mobile link: http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...modelcode=162R

Ext color, exec package and transmission are your only options.

Has anyone in Canada tried to get manual seats yet? US Dealer is saying NO WAY to get them even at a cost.

SA tells me right now the moonroof is the only one BMW may consider, and has turned down requests for individual paint and sports seats. He has not heard of anyone asking for manual seats though.

Anyone else having this issue?

I wonder if this means they will be opening the USA order banks this week....it does have the button for "Order Now."

While at the Performance center west they had what the instructors were referring to as "Ludwig Editions", manual seats, no nav. They were optimistic these would be released in the US but had no definite response.

That button appears to just send an email to a dealer so they can get back to the sender.

Some think the May allocations that should be released in early April will be the next opportunity.

Some of the add-ons are M perf. spoiler, pedal covers, black grills...but their pretty pricey. I ordered the pedal covers and grills but switched for the spoiler and found aftermarket pedal covers and IND has outer grill rings for $126.00 a pair.(fits same as 2series). Just some ideas..

BMW pedal covers $260.00
Black grills 410.00
Spoiler 502.00

Even though there isn't much to configure on these F87s, Nonetheless Great to See the Configurator on the US Sites!

Interesting that my M2 build w/ 6MT is $273 cheaper than my similarly optioned M235i build w/ 6MT & LSD.

I don't think the M235i will be a big seller once the M2 is readily available.

Most of the waitlists are already full for model year 2017 as well. When people hear about M2 and want to buy it, dealers direct the ones who do not want pay more to M235i and the ones who wouldn't mind extra cost to M3/4. I think BMW will be selling more M235i and M3/4s thanks to M2.

Most of the waitlists? In what area are you referring to? Seems a bit of a stretch to say "most" dealerships for 2017. Hell, the dealer I'm working with still has its HEA car available.

A more accurate statement would be, "Most of the people on the waitlist will bail before they get their allocation, therefore heading to an M235 or M3/4." I was almost one of those people...

Do you really think each dealer will get the same number of M2s as M3/4? Total number of M2s produced per year will be significantly lower than the total number of M3/4s.

Also, I live in Bay Area where every single dealer has at least 20 people on their list. Some people already started to drop out like you said and you know why? Because people do not want to wait that long and go buy M3/4 and few of them move to Porsche etc. My CA is on the waitlist of the dealer himself. He is #21 or #22. He clearly said that he doesn't expect to get his car in less than 2 years. Just FYI, I called almost all CA dealers in October and most of them had close to 10 people in their list. The ones who had only 1-2 people or no one were the ones who were charging $5-10K over MSRP. So I'm still pretty confident that an average buyer who walks into the dealer and wants to buy an M2 will not be able to buy it immediately unless he agrees to pay some markup.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to prove anything. This is how it looks like so far and I really wish you were right and BMW produced as many M2 to meet the demand.

Fortunately CA doesn't represent situation in the entire country. I walked into a dealer at the end of January and got the first car that dealer is going to sell. You can still get HEA cars back east it appears from resent posts.
