Dealer gave me a call today. I was #1 on the list. Car is mine at MSRP BSM with Exec and DCT. I've gone back and forth on the DCT but have grown to like it in my 135is. At the track it can't be beat. On the street very good too but definitely not as much driver involvement. Anyway I'm now tracking on MYBMW since I have the production number. No production date yet. Will keep you informed.

Yes ... I feel like a certain character In a movie when I keep saying .. With the 1M.... At any rate .. 1M launch cars usually spent a day or so on the floor so that locals could come ogle, and then the owner picked it up. Usually with something around it so stays pristine. And then the following delivery cars were all sold through already ... Which is exactly How you don't get to test drive a car like a 1M.. Cayman GT4... Gt350.. Etc. PS.. By the time launch cars get to dealers they will be sold, half of them to the dealer owner....: |

Get everyone all hyped for the vehicle. Let them drive it and drool over it. Eventually someone will buy it. However, at the end of the day it is still a business. So some dealers sell it and some keep them locked up. |

My dealer says a launch vehicle will arrive soon. It is for people on the list and other serious prospective buyers to drive. Color will be black, was asked if interested in buying.

Regardless, I'm going to start vigorously looking for a ED allocation next wee. Pick up has to be between late March and Mid April so the F87 is a long shot, I may even have trouble finding a F80 to settle for. |

Just placed my order for a manual mineral grey with executive at Stevens Creek. I am 20 on the list and they expect delivery in 10-12 months. They guaranteed me MSRP but I've seen dealers bait and switch and once the car is ready, they put a markup on it. If you don't take it they sell it to the next sucker who got your allocation. Hope that doesn't happen here.

Can you elaborate? I see you as well as others have a week 15 build date, someone else posted a March date. Add 10-14 for BMW to make the car and I could be close to my target. Assuming that is why you said it is impossible.

Robert, We only have one 2016 M2 allocation for the foreseeable future and there are already offers for $15,000+ above MSRP. We are one of the few dealerships to still have an allocation available, most have been sold. If you are still interested please give me a call at your earliest convenience. 805-598-7427 Model 162R M2 Coupe USD 51,700.00 Color 475 Black Sapphire Metallic 550.00 Upholstery LCNL Leather Dakota Black/blue highlight N/C Options ZEC Executive Package 1,250.00 248 Heated Steering Wheel N/C 3AG Rear view camera N/C 507 Park Distance Control (rear) N/C 5AC Automatic high beams N/C 5AS Active Driving Assistant N/C 8TH Speed Limit Info N/C 1CA CO2 relevant vehicles N/C 2MK M Double-clutch Transmission with Drivelogic 2,900.00 5AP Decoding for no-dazzle high-beam assistance N/C 8S4 Variable Light Decoding N/C 925 Shipping package N/C ZTM Tier 2 N/C Net Total 56,400.00 Destination Charge 995.00 Total Suggested Price 57,395.00 Makayla Mier Client Advisor Cardinale Coast BMW 12100 Los Osos Valley Rd San Luis Obispo, CA, 93405 805-254-4344 Work 805-543-5837 Fax 805-598-7427 Cell |

My dealer still says allocation unknown, MSRP and not a dime more (I have that in writing, so reasonably tough to 'amend' later), not taking orders yet. I am #10 according to one salesperson and #12 according to another, but both tell me 'no worries, we will get you a car.' The whole thing is just crazy making. I'm going to pretend I never heard of the M2 and if, at some point, my dealer contacts me to say he can take an order and give me an approximate delivery date, I will treat it as a fortuitous event and shout 'hallelujah' - that last hopefully not in the same manner and spirit as Caribou Barbie's recent endorsement blather. |

The process alone takes a bit of time. I will reach out to NA tomorrow and check and see what the earliest dates will be for ED for you though. |

I'm going to stay out of the early release circus...makes my BP high just reading this stuff. I'll see what is happening for MY2017, if I don't succumb to an F89 competition package.

Mountain View said the price would be what the market dictates which means...markup! They already had 18 on their list. Peter Pan was at 20 too with MSRP guaranteed.
