Debadged M2

Hey there, gang.

Curious if anyone has pics of a fully debadged M2.

Debating going stealth. Would like to see what the side gills/whatever look like debadged. I know the front grille can be dremeled out as people have done it on the M3/M4s.

Thank you in advance!

What's the purpose. You bought the car because of what it is. Why hide it?

I can see the appeal in removing anything from a product that serves no useful purpose. Not sure what is being hidden, after all you knew what make and model it was before you bought it.

How correct you are!

It is all about detailing a clean skin.

The very reason Porsche lets you de-badge for free right from the factory.

I am not a fan of debugging, most of the time its folks with a lower level model who want to hide that they have a 328 instead of a 335 or whatever. My car is LBB and I am not a fan of chrome with that color so I put the black chrome badge on in place of the factory chrome and it looks nice.

It's like buying Trojan Magnum XL and scrubbing out XL from the box.

No M2 logo on my M2 and zero M logo's on my Z4M also...that is how I like it. I don't want to shout that I have a BMW M and any enthousiast will recognise the car anyway

It seems to be a European thing. Lots of debadged cars over there. A lot more class resentment.

Mine will either be debadged or I'll go with an aftermarket black badge. Most people don't give a f what an M2 is anyways lol, so I could care less about that.

Quite the opposite, de badging is very common in Europe on the higher end models.
Owners want to blend in and not draw attention.

Yep this is true.

Europe: I'm ashamed I bought such a fancy car, let me hide it as to not flaunt.

America: I'm ashamed I bough such a crappy car, let me hide it so people think it's more expensive.

America Also: I'm ashamed I bough such a crappy car, let me stick an M2 badge on my M235i to make it seem like it's more expensive.

Exactly. Not kidding.

I wanted to debadge and already have a '218i' badge still covered in plastic in my armrest box, ordered 1 month ago at my dealer.(€37,06 inc vat) No joke.

When will I put it on? Dunno...the whole thing might be a bit sarcastic I guess...

Cheers

Well enthusiasts will know it's an M regardless and everyone else wont know the difference anyway. So exactly what is the point? Who are people trying to fool by doing this? I'm no badge whore but I think de-badging is ridiculous unless you do it because you like it for the clean look.

I was standing next to my car and I heard people talk about my M2. One dude was saying...no it's not an M2 because it does not have an M2 badge. So apparently there are people who really need to see an M badge on the rear of the car to recognise it's a BMW M. I'm not trying to fool anyone by removing my M badge; I just don't want to shout out that I have a M2 or Z4M or a ... and I also like the clean look...

And what did you respond? "No you're not a fool because there isn't 'FOOL' written on your forehead" ?

I did not say anything....

On another day I was parked next to a M4 and the owner asked me "why don't you have an M2 badge on your car"... I said; " I like to be a bit low profile and people who know cars will know it's an M2"... His answer; "but how will girls know you have a M2"... => Strange people those M4 drivers

Of course they don't care... I only met one girl who recognised my car and said; "cool that you have an M2, my dream car is an M4"...

Dunno, but last summer two 16/17 year old girls were walking by. My car was parked in front of my shop. They were looking at their phones as usual and one looked up and said enthusiastically pointing at my car: " Later when I have a good job I want that car in that colour!"

Cheers
