If you tell the dealer that they just might discount the car $2,500. If these don't move off the lot then that's what will have to happen.

Or cut an alternative deal with the dealer: $2.5K discount and the dealer gets your seat at to the M Performance Driving course (if BMW allows a seat swap).

M2 PE hasn't been officially announced and everyone's already jumping into conclusions. Wait for the announcement next week then you'll have all the right to flame.

Just for the sake of information, I have a local BMW dealer locate a M2M driver edition and to get it, the dealer who has the car wants 12k above MSRP of the 62K.

This is the manual trans version.

For me to get one home it would be around 80K.

I'll back off on this one for now.

Agreed. I'm still on the fence about one, but it was at least offered at MSRP.

I have a potential opportunity to purchase a 2017 M2 manual trans ZL9 version at the end of March/early April for
$61,695 + $5,000 mark up plus tax (Around 10%). I have to put a deposit ($5,000), sign a sales agreement contract to buy the car since the dealer is going to trade his cars to intercept it from another dealer while in transit. The car would only be subject to inspection to be flawless. No " I found another deal", would get you out of purchasing it.
Another dealer has one coming directly to his dealership, his offer was, " give us $5,000 and fill out a credit form and you could have first shot at buying. This dealer can do this because the car was ordered from them originally. Unfortunately it is a DCT trans. My first choice is manual. Also a $5,000 above msrp markup.

The $2,500 "driving school" is a bit silly for me (and everyone else) since I track a 2014 OEM Shelby GT 500 at Fontana with very good times and am still alive.

Shame really.

In Texas two dealers called me offering an allocation at msrp. You can pick your own options

Markup is excessive for this car and they can easily be had at msrp

No way I would pay a 5k market adjustment.

This entire package specifically adds in profit dollars for the dealer.

Anyone paying a market adjustment on top of the regular MSRP of this car ... is just getting

True story !

I have at least two friends that turned down an allocation.

My wife asked if this "150" limited production was limited to 2017, or will BMW make more in 2018?"

I thought, that's a good question.

Also, are there any other better, more powerful M2 track performance versions that will be coming out.

Ford made the mistake of making a Shelby GT350 and a GT 350R with the same engine ratings. The 350R (very few produced) has an MSRP of 68K. A dealer in Montebello, CA. has a market adjustment of 60k on top of it! That is not enough car for 128K. And I wanted one.

My dreams have been shattered as well. Considering used M2s are going for almost 70 in Canada which is hilarious already. I wouldn't be surprised if the s55 M2 will be just shy of 100. sigh...
