Just spoke to bmw genius hotline, my car finished production on the 16th, and left the factory today on the way to the port

Nope, mine ends in 38.

On the BMW site, my car still shows a status of "being built from start to finish" even though Genius claimed it was done on 9/12 and went through QC on 9/13. Auto-genius still says it's waiting to be released to the carrier.

I'm not sure how you're getting the numbers you're getting though - when I put a partial VIN into the 2wglobal.com tracking and wildcard the end with a %, I'm only turning up 3 entries. That is apparently only searching WWL boats though, so maybe you are manually going and searching NYK and something else as well?

If you do a search on the WWL site with the Cargo ID "WBS1J5C5%JV%" then you'll see all of the 2018 M2s in the WWL system. They show up in date order from the most recent update.

This morning, all of the Tombarra and Lake Superior cars were at the top of the list with the status of 'Received at Terminal', but now this afternoon, the Morning Courier cars have changed status to 'Loaded on Vessel' and therefore are at the top of the list.

I clicked on all of the Cargo IDs with today's update this morning, and found that there are 51 cars total that left the port yesterday. 45 are on the Tombarra headed for Halifax, and 6 are on the Lake Superior heading for New York.

The Morning Courier has 29 cars on it, and left on Friday.

Ahh, my search string wasn't broad enough. I was searching:

WBS1J5C51JVD3%

And that's only turning up 3 cars. Derp.

For North American cars, that other digit you are wildcarding is the check digit, which would change from car to car based on the end sequence... so that makes sense.

My SA told me his HQ rep said wait a few more days for it to update in the system. So I guess the HQ guy doesn't think a full week is enough time. My SA doesn't think there is any damage to the car nor does he see anything indicating it's waiting on parts. I also called a Genius who again thought it was "weird" (his words) the car was done, but not released yet. He also said he didn't see any indication the car was damaged or waiting on any parts. He said the car could have been pushed out ahead of it's original production date, but admitted that was speculation on his part. That theory also doesn't make sense since it says it's completed production in the system.

The more I dig the more questions I have. The worst part is just not knowing WTH is going on. Same sh!t, different day.

No hits on WWL. But given that your car just left the factory today (from your earlier post), it's highly unlikely it will be on a boat for another 3 or 4 days, best case.

Well, if you look at the VINs making it onto boats, they're still a good 10-20 away from where mine is (sequentially)... so maybe there was just a backup at Leipzig getting all of the stuff onto trains to get to Bremerhaven.

Tag - what status is your car? Is it 190? 193? Something else?

If it makes you feel better, mine finished production on 8/18, but didn't get on a boat until Sep 1. And there were other cars that were completed after mine by a day or 2 that got an a boat a week earlier. Things don't seem to be perfectly sequential.

Seems like I'm still stuck in status 155. I've had several Genius' tell me it's finished production and is in QC, including the one I spoke with today. Curious about yours, did it stay at the factory or was it transported to the port and waiting there?

Mine took a while to get to port, but it went to status 190 the day after production complete (155). Do you know that it's 155 - or are you simply surmising that from the sketchy info you're receiving? Your CA should be able to look it up in the system and tell you exactly what it is "right now". Genius used to do that, but lately they've been telling me that their policy no longer allows them to tell me the status code (although some will - especially if you "lead the witness").

Mine seemed to take 5 days to get from Munich to port, and then it sat at port for another week.

My timeline went like this (so far) ...
6/17/17 Order bank opens for MY2018 M2s
6/19/17 Placed order with CA - Status 111 - production # available
6/22/17 Approved final order details with CA - order sheet shows week 33, but Genius says week 35
7/10/17 Scheduled for daily production pack - week 33 - status 112
8/4/17 Production start - status 150 - VIN available
8/18/17 Production complete (Friday of week 33)
8/19/17 In transit to port - status 190
8/24/17 At port awaiting boat - status 193

I'm assuming it's 155 since they said their last update says it's in QC which my understanding is the last step of the production process. From what I've seen the average is 1~2 days after production is completed before it's transported to the port. It's been a full week since my car was suppose to complete production and yet it's still at the factory.

I can also tell the Genius' are confused by my cars status. They either put me on hold for a couple of minutes or keep telling me they are sorry it's taking long to get my status, as if they are looking it over trying to figure it out. The more forthcoming Genius' say what they are seeing is weird, the last update they see is it going to QC, but they don't see it as completing production. The other Genius' who seem to be just as confused tend to be curt and tell me the car has completed production and they don't have any other updates. I haven't called live-Genius line often, but I did call them on the 13th and that's when they told me I finished production on the 12th, and then they kind of hesitated and then told me "went through QC on the 13th". There's no step for QC on the "bimmerpost guide to tracking your car" so I'm not sure what step that actually is...

I would love it if somehow mine managed to get made with the Canada-spec rear seatbacks, and that took extra time for some reason. Not holding my breath though...

Where on the website do you find that level of tracking detail? I don't get that much detail on the My BMW tracker.

Thanks for reaching out and your vehicle is in status (190 - Dispatched From Ag) which means the vehicle is produced but not shipped yet.

I honestly have no idea why there would be a week delay. I would need to talk to my BMW rep to better understand.

Tag / ZPrime, you guys are going to struggle to catch the same boat as the other W37 cars, which is a shame, but if you end up with the 3 piece rear seats, I'm going to be super jealous!
