This... it's only 4c above the temp you are supposed to swap out your summer tires for winter tires according to manufacturers

Michelin recommends not using their PSS tires below 12

This. Did they complain about the footwell being too cramped to fit their enormous balls? Because that's what it would take to get a time like that on PSSs at a temp that low on a track that treacherous.

From the article I understood that the track was not 100% dry everywhere and one area was dirty.
It also said that the engine made 30bhp more than the factory claim.

Thanks for sharing though semi old news

I already have the mag here for a couple of weeks. It was a tad moist humid on some parts of the track. And they stated lowering the rear tyrepressure to 2.0 would give it a more conservative /less oversteery character than needed for more technical/slower tracks like Hockenheim Short.(square 2.4 bar)

7:58 is a reproducable speed for M2 on the NS. There was also a 7:52 in it they stated(talking to Top Gear Germany), but M2 may not need to come close to big brother M3/4 marketingwise but irl it certainly does

(Look at my sig)

Cheers
Robin

Not everyone speaks German, Robin

Though if it can do 8:01 on a damp NS, 7:52 should be quite achievable in the dry. Also 30 bhp more than BMW claims would explain why the one I drove felt nearly as fast an F80 M3 on the same track.

Sorry mate you're right. If you want more info I'll gladly translate it for you(and the few Germans/Austrians etc overhere will do that, I think as well)
My sig says 7:58 is reproducable. There was a 7:52 in it....

I never forget this scene from D&D

Cheers
