My personal main complaint with my beast was the horrible rubbery shift action of the shifter. I have installed the Ultimate Short Shifter from UUC Motorwerks in my M5 in addition to four previous vehicles and have always been impressed with quality and precision of it's action. I was waiting for UUC to develop an application for our vehicles and earlier this week they confirmed their M235i product fits the M2 perfectly. Installed it this morning and I cannot believe how it's transformed the shifting experience. Very precise changes, 30% shorter throws, NO RUBBERY ACTION. In my opinion, this is a must do for any of us who are unhappy with the manual experience. You're welcome... http://store.uucmotorwerks.com/ultim...35i-p1505.aspx

Nicely done; any pics post install? Also, did you do the install yourself? I did one myself on my z32 and it was the worst experience ever; can't believe it's still in one piece

Had my tech do it. I made the mistake of installing the shifter myself on my M5 due to impatience. Had the shifter come loose downshifting into Turn 8 at Mosport at 145 mph! Never again...

Nice, thanks for the post! Was waiting for a short shifter kit to come out (wish BMW would offer one again).

I've been meaning to get the UUC Short Shifter for my M3 as well. Have you by any chance used their UUC Double Shear Selector Rod (DSSR) and do you think is worth it?

How much did the new pair of pants and re-upholster of the driver's seat set you back?

At least you didn't give yourself a black eye when the shifter came off hahaha. I almost did when the shiftknob refused to come off (but then did hahaha)
