Confirmed June 2016 Production Weeks

I wanted to start a thread to keep a track of everyone who have confirmed M2 June production week schedules.

My car is scheduled for Week 24 which according to BMW Genius starts on June 6th.

Appreciate if people could share their confirmed production weeks for their upcoming M2s.

I'm in the US so for me keeping the extra year/14,000 miles of maintenance and the brake coverage is worth the trade off if the 5.0 ends up in the 2017 US models.

Thats a good point. I am in the US as well, kind of having mixed feelings right now. My car is supposedly June production. When I call the 1-800 number the automated system tells me "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date" . I guess I need to call a genius. I kind of keep hoping that my allocation might be pushed for July. Im not a tech guy when it comes to my car, hell I don't have Nav in my E92 and I couldn't care less, just bothers me my car would fall a month short of having the latest technology.

Smile

Morning, from sunny England!

So apparently my M2 goes into production on 23 June (according to the dealer) but I've got a chassis number already. Not entirely sure how that works!

Unfortunately we do not have BMW Genius here so I'm relying on updates from the dealer. As soon as I know more, I'll let you all know

This. Plus, if you cancel, who knows when you will get one. You'll be lucky to get it just in time for winter!

I got my 1M in late October 2011 so I am extremely happy and loving that I got my M2 in mid April!!!

This is just an observation regarding maintenance especially 'brakes'. Just keep in mind that the M brakes are really good. I personally only know of 2 people that had their brakes actually replaced under the maintenance agreement on their E92 M3 and that's because of 'good will'. I'm still in the original brakes on my '11 M3 E93 6MT with just turning 50K miles. Being a 6MT does help a lot to prolong brake ware. BMW will not replace the brakes under 'maintenance' if they see sufficient abuse or if you track the car. The point I'm trying to make is for you not to worry too much about loosing the one year maintenance in MY2017. If you are really concerned, then you may purchase the extended maintenance coverage from your dealer as well.

However, it would be nice if starting production in July we do receive the updated iDrive and Apple CarPlay.

Week 25 as well, June 20th. Confirmed by my GM.

The 24 and 25 confusion is over where you start to count, because Jan. 1st was technically it's own week. It should be ignored and week 1 starts on Jan. 4th.

Speak for your dealer...

My dealer replaced my brake pads at 8k miles. : I told then I went on several mountain passes on my Euro delivery ( a true story ) plus some DE time.

When I came back again at 13k... They declined to do them again, but they did later replace pads for me again at 24k. Yes. My service rep knows I track my car.

50k miles on an M3 with OEM pads -- sounds like an M commuter

Now getting them to replace ROTORS on the other hand requires that the rotors be below spec in conjunction with worn pads. My friend had his rotors declined on his M roadster that was going out of its warranty. He went and did a track day and wore down the pads and the rotors more and they changed them all under warranty.

Yeah, I'm with you there. With how few cars are being produced for 2016, it would be nice if BMW would give us the tech, but if I have to give it up in favor of the better maintenance plan, I'm good with it..

Thanks for this. My experiences have been the same, brake replacement hasn't been an issue.

I'm scheduled for Week 23 (Week beginning June 6). Still at status 112. No date changes since I received a production number last month. It's been a long wait

I agree with what you are saying. I'm not advocating that the dealer or BMW refuse to replace the brakes. I'm just saying that generally the M brakes are really good with ware and they last for a long time if not abused. So a lot of times are not replaced under maintenance.

My M3 is not even a commuter. Only used on the weekends and long trips so I'm still with the original brakes although the rears are almost ready to be replaced, but I'm thinking to do a BBK if i can find something reasonable in yellow.

Yes, and it's " not a commuter". Those are some pretty gentle weekend miles !

LoL! Yes, long highway 'top down' V8 sounding miles to the NC coast.

When I need to go fast in my traffic commute the 540 Sport is the tool of choice.

The '97 525 Touring does the groceries and the '98 323Ci does the liqueur store runs across the border to SC.

Hopefully the M2 will be the dedicated tracking tool
