It lists an option for Apple CarPlay and something referring to LED in the options list.I am just wondering what new options there will be on the 2017 M2. |

Note: Does the rear spoiler look a bit bigger than the MY2016? It almost looks like it's the M performance spoiler, but painted body colour.

At least that's what BMW said about the 2016 m performance spoiler. I'll take carplay. |

Thanks. The spoiler does look a little bit bigger but I think there is just a reflection in the picture, which makes it look larger than what it really looks like.

So is it possible once production begins in August (due to June retooling) that orders from MY2016 will be built as MY2017 models and will include the new stuff?

Production for the 2017 M2 will start in July,so cars built in July will be MY2017 models and will get the new options.

#3 Waiting on the M2 (BSM)..if I can't it by July 16, then going for the '17 model after test driving a DCT. Maybe some color options in 17? Great exchanges and opinions though and someone once said, "that's why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors" oh yea that was me...

Car play and the new iDrive (which includes a higher res display and new interface) look to be the only things new. And even then, we don't know if the car play will make it over here. From the thread, it sounds like it will. But at least Canada has a product bulletin for the iDrive (also in that thread). It doesn't specifically mention the M2 but since the M2 is "parts bin" () I'd be shocked if it didn't come with it. |

i gotcha.. as far as the performance matching... I do think that is a bit of a thing of the past. With turbo motors, it's hard to keep that separation that you are wanting.. or... at the least.. I think the separation still is there via BMW underrating the M cars more so than the non M cars. I agree.. I don't anticipate many performance adjustments, color modifications or additional options packages to sprout up for this vehicle. I was able to search and find it... thanks to @G8rGrl !! 1. E92 M3, 414hp, 400nm trq, 0-100km/h 4.6s (DCT) 335i, 302hp, 400nm trq, 0-100km/h 5.6s 2. F22 M2, 375hp, 465nm trq, 0-100km/h 4.3s (DCT) 240i, 340hp, 500nm trq, 0-100km/h 4.4s (xDrive) The E92 had a 8000rpm 4L NA V8, the 335i had a straight 6 turbo... The M2 and 240i both have a 3L straight six twin scroll turbo... Also the one thing I dislike most on the 1M is the dull engine, no character at all but because the whole package talks to me so I am ok with it. Would I love it more if it had the 3.2L S54 engine? You bet. Even though using the S54 might be a bit slower but there are the benefits of better engine sound, better throttle response and the joy of reving out to 8k. So I am not just a number guy and in this case I see that the M2 can use a better engine to justify its premium. |
