So when I picked up my car, my CA said launch control would not be activated until the first service. I figured that was lie but I didn't try it anyway. Now that I've had the car serviced, I've attempted to launch numerous times with no success. I've done it on other BMWs before so I'm not sure what the issue is. Could it really be inactive?

Please excuse my listing the steps. Just trying to help. Uninterrupted driving of at least 6 miles (it's probably measuring oil temp to enable) Disable Dynamic Stability Control Select Sequential First Gear With the engine running, fully press brake with left foot Fully depress accelerator, the starting engine speed will adjust to about 3500 and the launch control message should be on. Engine speed can be adjusted via the cruise control adjustment for a better launch. Release the brake, and launch control will stay active if the accelerator pedal remains fully depressed. If the dash does not show Launch Control below the tach under the 0, it may be time to chat with the service advisor again. Here's a link of an M2 launch

bim2er Yup. Nothing works. Engine won't even rev when I have my foot on the brake. Contacted the dealer SA. He's "looking into it". Not sure why this wasn't done in the first place.

From the Technical Training pdf Found Here it says:
The 2000*km (1200mile) pre-delivery check must have been completed and reset/confirmed with the Integrated Service Technical Application (ISTA) (do not reset by the instrument cluster service function, as otherwise the launch control is not enabled). ... I wonder if the dealer hasn't done this step correctly. |

Are you sure you didn't accidentally code it out? Snoogins!
I'm going to go try mine right now. Edit: just tried it, works a charm. 0-60 in 1.2 seconds! Nice!

Yup and the dealer called me back. Won't admit they messed up. "We just want to be sure the car is working, please bring it back in...."

Well since this week marked the 30 year anniversary of Top Gun, I thought I might have a need....a need for speed.

Dumb question but does the car shift itself when using launch control? This will be my first DCT car.
